Orihime makes sure grocery shopping is a disaster

    by: SkeithTheTerror Author IconMail Icon
As Orihime and Ogami entered the grocery mart, Ogami prepared himself for some sense of normalcy and hopefully mundane after the two weird experiences he had earlier in the day.

As he handed Orihime the shopping list that Maria had him hold on to, she looked at it in disgust. Rice? Soy sauce? Carrots? This list was practically tailor made to create Japanese food Ogami would like!

"This is disgusting!" Orihime yelled out as she shred to list to pieces before Ogami's eyes. "We are supposed to be a high class theater! And yet what does Mari- I mean, what do I make every night? Japanese food, Russian Borscht, French Cuisine! Absolutely nothing of class!"

"I-I didn't know you felt so strongly about this, Maria." Ogami stammered, having previously been under the assumption that Maria was proud of her cooking.

"Of course I do! But now that we're here I can finally put a stop to it! No more cooking meals from a variety of cultures each day of the week! From now on we'll have fine Itallian cuisine every day like civilized people!" Orihime stood triumphantly in Maria's body, believing she had a chance to do some good besides date Ogami in Maria's body.

There was just one eensy teensy tiny detail she hadn't considered. Being a rich girl who had everything she ever wanted, Orihime had never cooked a meal herself before. So as she and Ogami walked through the store she grabbed whatever sound right.

"Hmm, pasta is made of noodles so we'll need a bunch of these." Orihime said as she emptied a shelf of boxes into Ogami's shopping cart.

"I thiiiiink there's dough in pizza?" Orihime was unsure as she piled even more ingredients into the cart.

"Ah! We can't forget the sauce!" Orihime began to toss jar after jar at Ogami and the cart, Ogami himself tried his best to dodge the actual heavy glass being thrown at him. By the time Orihime was satisfied there was one only-slightly-cracked jar in the car and a whole aisle of the store was stained red.

"Ma-Maria I think this is enough." Ogami stammered out as he struggled to push the cart to checkout. There was a sky high pile of ingredients that Orihime shoved into the cart, costing what would easily be two months of the theater's food budget.

Orihime sighed "Fine, if you want to only spend a little." She rolled her eyes, not realizing exactly how much ingredients cost or how much was too much.

-----

As the two walked back to the theater, Ogami's legs shook like there was an earthquake with every step. When they left the store and had to leave the cart behind, he had assumed Maria would help carry half the bags "Can I PLEASE have some help?" He begged.

Orihime looked back at Ogami before speaking "Of course not, you're the captain after all." She said with a wink, hoping that this torture would be enough to make Ogami refuse any more one-on-one grocery shopping trips.

"But you were captain before me..." Ogami whined as he continued to walk.

------

As the two walked into the theater with their massive pile of ingredients, Orihime wasted no time in getting rid of the theater's previous completely varied foods and healthy ingredients like fruits and vegetables.

Eventually the trashcans filled to the brim and she resorted to tossing the old food out the window, causing one passerby to become very confused as to while Maria Tachibana herself had just thrown a tomato at him.

"Just you wait, captain! I'm about to show you the true wonders of Italian cuisine!" Orihime smiled at Ogami as she put vermicelli noodles in the freezer.

From a good mile away, Maria in Iris' body shivered, feeling a disturbance in her kitchen.

"Riiight." Ogami said, worried for his stomach. Though slightly less worried than he was about Kanna's.

As Orihime finished tossing out the old food and shoving the new ingredients into random places, she noticed that Ogami had at some point walked away from her!

Rushing to the lobby to recover her date, Orihime boiled red as she caught him talking to yet another woman!

"So you see ensign, my father will be unveiling a new car from Kanzaki Heavy Industries at the park. I'll be required to give a dull speech, but on the bright side I'll be able to bring a plus one." Sumire explained her current circumstances to Ogami.

Understanding what she meant immediately, Ogami nodded "Of course! I'd love to go! We should...probably head out soon." He quickly added on the last part as he feared a kitchen disaster would be happening soon.

"Not without me you won't." Orihime clutched her three remaining straws. "Ahhh, Sumire!" She said as she grabbed the theater's other heiress and dragged her to the side "Sorry captain, I need to talk to her for a moment. Actress stuff." She winked.

"Ms. Maria!" Sumire stomped as she was dragged into the kitchen "I am in the middle of something very important and-"

"Yeah, blah blah blah!" Orihime ignored her as she held up the straws "Just take one of these and you're free to go!"

Sumire rolled her eyes "Fine, if it'll get you to leave me in peace!"

Once again, the moment Sumire grabbed the straw their souls exchanged, leaving Sumire in Maria's body. "I, what?! Maria what have you done."

"Uhhh, who's Maria?" Orihime couldn't think up a better excuse as she quickly ran to the lobby to see Ogami.

"Hey! Stop right there!" Sumire was about to make chase when suddenly someone else entered the kitchen.

"Ahh, there you are Maria! I'm starving!" Kanna in the body of Orihime called out. "Today's been sure strange, but nothing a good lunch can't make better."

Trying to walk around her, Sumire said "Sorry Orihime, but I have MUCH more important things to worry about!"

Before Sumire could step out, Kanna blocked the door "Ain't nothing more important than three meals a day! I already missed breakfast, so get cookin'!"

"Ugh, fine!" Sumire groaned. Looking around, there was a lot of Italian food that should satisfy 'Orihime'. "This should only take a few minutes." She sighed. Being the one member of the theater with less cooking experience than Orihime, everyone staying around was in for a...special lunch.
