John had been at his job for 2 years and really enjoyed it. coming out of the army it was a rough blow to fail the fbi entrance exam but after a few years of private security gigs he had landed his current post as second in command running security at a top secret Lab. if asked he'd play it off as "the best job ever. All the fun dangerous toys with none of the paperwork." though officially if asked what he did he was legally obligated to respond "I run night shift security at a mineral refinery" and not "if you take an elevator 15 stories down I watch guys in black suits and sunglasses bring in "assests" and make sure no one gets in to snoop while the scientists do their thing".
