As you consider your options, you get the strangest feeling that no matter what you do, Pallet Town won't
be the safe haven it rightfully should be for someone as small as yourself. But...why? You instinctively turn your attention to the flower and press your hand against it. You're flooded with a series of strange memories of death. Did...did you die her?
No....that's impossible. But then again, would these odd visions be the only impossible thing that's happened to you today?
You briefly ponder over whether or not to take these premonitions seriously. If you just venture out blindly, you will likely get killed. Are you really going to pass up the chance to seek shelter in one of the buildings on a hunch? Ultimately, however, your fears get the best of you. Whether or not the premonitions were real, you just can't bring yourself to try to head to the lab or the nearby house. Instead, you make your way south until you arrive at the edge of the little inlet at the southern end of town.
You stand at the edge of the sea, the scent of saltwater lingering in the air around you. From here you can hear the roaring of distant sea waves. Looking at the water, you see that it would appear calm were it not for your tiny size...but at your size, even a mild wave could prove to be a major problem, not to mention the dangerous marine life that no doubt inhabits the route. You take a good look around you, knowing just how dangerous it would be to recklessly dive into the waters.
As you examine your surroundings, you notice what appears to be a discarded toy floating in the water, one clearly resembling a Magikarp. It happens to be about your height, and is oddly enough tethered to the shore by a string. While you're hesitant about swimming out to see, it might be worth investigating. To the east of the inlet lies a wooden fence. With your small size you could easily fit between its bars and make your way to the land portion of Route 21. Finally, you are pretty confident in your own swimming abilities. You might be able to brave the waters of the route as it is.
