Alexis was drifting in and out of sleep throughout the duration of the car ride. Her mind couldn't stop racing as to what their new house was going to look like. Her parents kept saying that it was two stories high, but how high is that supposed to be? As big as their old house, or really big, like a castle? Plenty of these thoughts formed in the young girls' mind as she tried to get into a more comfortable position in her seat.
Before she knew it, the car had slowed down to a stop, and she was slowly waking up due to the lack of motion and potholes. This was confirmed when her dad had told her and her siblings to all wake-up, which was pretty mean in her opinion.
She heard her parents talking in the front seat, so she looked over and gazed upon her new home. It definitely wasn't a castle, but it was a lot bigger than their old house. Their old house had a bunch of her dad's work stuff everywhere and her older siblings had the same room, so it was pretty small. This new house was a lot bigger, so hopefully it had stairs!
"Ouch, hey get off me Alexis I want to go back to sleep," Anthony said, pushing his sister off of him.
"But I want to see the new house dummy! Scoot over" Alexis retorted, continuing to climb over her twin to get a better view of the house.
There was a nice big front yard, and she heard her mom say that the backyard is just as big, so she and Anthony can run around and play if they wanted to.
While she was thinking of all the activities she could do with this abundance of space, she heard Joey say, "who pissed in his coffee?".
This confused Alexis, why would somebody pee in her dad's drink? She had to get to the bottom of this.
She poked her head over the second seat rest and looked at her mom and older siblings.
"Somebody peed in Daddys coffee?" Alexis said, confused.
"I need to pee too" she heard Anthony say, but she ignored him.
She could see Sarah laughing, and Joey smiling at her, which led to even more confusion on her part.
"Nobody did Alexis, it's a figure of speech," Sarah said, smiling at her.
Sarah was a really nice older sister in Alexis' eyes. She was always around when she was a baby, but she left for school for a long time. She says really smart things a lot, and usually plays whenever asked. Alexis also thought that her sister was really pretty, and wished that she looked more like her sister. She was envious of her long hair, the fact that she could wear makeup, and her breasts. She wasn't as big as her mom, but she wasn't as round as her either. She just hoped that she would look as good as one of them one day. With all things considered, Alexis wondered why Sarah didn't have a boyfriend. Alexis thought that all grown women had a boyfriend or a husband or something like that.
Anthony then hollered out from next to her, "I need to pee, I've been holding it since we left!".
"Stupid Anthony," Alexis thought to herself. She'd always seen herself as the older, more mature twin, seeing how Anthony was always being babied by their mom. He cried about dumb things a lot, and always needs help doing things.
She heard a tap at the back window, and saw her dad wave at her through the glass, causing her to break out a big smile. Alexis was really close with her dad, and he often took her out on father-daughter dates, so at times the two could be inseparable. She watched as he walked up to the driver-side window, and tap on it, which prompted her mom to roll it down and strike up a conversation with him. Alexis couldn't make out what they were saying, but then her dad turned to her and her sibling and said, "So up and at em! Go tell those gentlemen what to do with your stuff!".
She heard Joey and Sarah sigh, which didn't really make too much sense to her. They got to put all their things into this new place! Nothing was cooler than this. Alexis hurriedly crawled over her seat and opened the inner trunk latch to let her and her twin out.
She walked over to the moving van with Anthony and saw a large man carrying a box with her name on it.
"Scuse me, mister, I think that one is mine," she said, hands behind her back.
"Well hello, there little lady! This one is yours? It's pretty heavy, why don't you show me where to take this one in your new house?" he said nicely.
Alexis liked how this man treated her, like somebody of importance.
She watched as her twin hurriedly rushed into the new house, probably to find a bathroom before having his stuff moved in, but she didn't want him to get settled into their room before her.
"This way Mr. Moving Man, follow me"
The two of them headed into the house, and the man asked, "So we're inside, where do you want this ma'am?"
Alexis thought about it and said:
