After a few more seconds of silence, Eve answered, "Don't worry about it. But... not right now."
Stinky blinked in confusion. "Not right now? What do you mean?"
"You two are alright," Eve answered. "But... I'm not real comfortable with you yet. Maybe if we hang out more, I might jus--"
BRRRRRRRrrrrrpppp...
"...Might just warm up to you..." Eve finished.
"Pfff, seems like you're real comfortable around us already," Stinky joked.
"I told ya, it's my ghost butt," Eve reiterated. "Anyway... yeah."
"...So, do you want to hang us with us more, then?" Sam asked in earnest.
Eve and Stinky both gave Sam a confused look at the same time.
"Well, we have all day," Sam said with a shrug. "It's still pretty early, and I don't have any other plans now that we solved the mystery of who came to the school." He then turned to Stinky. "Do you have any plans, Stinky?"
Stinky shook her head. "Not really. Honestly, I was just gonna do what I usually do, and just fart around."
Sam then turned to Eve. "Do you have any plans, Eve?"
Eve just raised an eyebrow at Sam, and remained silent.
"I-I didn't mean to impose--"
"No, I don't have any plans," Eve asked. "It's just... hmm." She then put her hand to her chin as if she was in deep thought. "...Well, if I'm going to join you two, then what are we going to do?"
"Well... have you been anywhere else in town?" Sam asked her.
Eve shook her head. "Nope."
"Well then... Stinky, what do you say we show Eve around?"
Stinky blinked in pleasant surprise. "Hell yeah! That sounds like a blast!"
Sam smiled. "Great. So, anywhere you wanna go, Eve?"
Eve shrugged. "I don't know what you have here."
"Oh right. Well--"
Stinky interjected. "Ah, Eve, we got an Arcade, a Diner, a Thrift Store--!" she said as she counted her fingers for each location.
"Cemetery?" Eve asked.
Stinky looked as Sam, and he looked back her. Sam then answered, "Uh... yeah, why?"
"Do you really have to ask?" Eve said with half-open eyes. "I wanna see if there's any other ghosts there."
Stinky grinned from ear to ear. "Oooooooo, you're totally right! Man, today is gonna be awesome!"
Eve gave a soft little chuckle at Stinky's exuberant enthusiasm. "Well, slow down, slow down."
"What?"
"First, we gotta decide what we're gonna do about... well, me," Eve elaborated.
"Do about you?" Sam asked.
"Yeah. I'm a ghost, remember? I can't exactly float around like I'm just a regular kid. I'd turn so many heads just being out and about with you like it's no big deal."
"...Didn't you say you're the first ghost we've seen?" Sam questioned. "You make it sound like seeing a ghost is actually pretty common."
"Yeah, it's common, but it isn't always pretty," Eve answered. "I'd say maybe 7 or 8 times outta 10, people always flip out and scream at the sight of a ghost."
"And the other 2 to 3 times?" Stinky asked.
"Pass out or say that they always knew ghosts were real and that they weren't crazy after all," Eve answered nonchalantly. "Then there's you two. Point is, I'm not sure I wanna cause that sorta commotion with a whole group of people."
"Can't you turn invisible?" Stinky asked.
"Sure, but then you guys wouldn't be able to see me."
"We could still hear you."
"Talking or farting?"
"...Both?"
Sam stepped in. "So, what, there's no way you can come with us?"
Eve took a few seconds to respond. "...Well, there is one other way. Unless you two are totally fine with me being invisible, I can just partially possess one of you two."
"P-Possess...?" Sam and Stinky both stammered in unison.
"Partially possess," Eve reiterated. "I'll just hang out in either of your bodies, and you guys will have control over them like normal."
"Then how will you talk to us?" Sam inquired with a titled head.
"Through your mouth, duh."
Sam rubbed the back of his head. "That sounds... weird, but fine by me. What do you think, Stinky?"
"Uhhh... yeah, actually, I think that should be fine," Stinky said hesitantly. "But like... who is she gonna possess, me or you?"
"I can still go invisible too, y'know," Eve clarified.
