As Blake slowly stood up to undergo the same process that the other three members of her team had gone through, the Hypnotist could tell that she was different than the others. He had noticed that she had been watching him closely, as if examining his every move. Based on the way she looked at him, he guessed that she had probably figured out how his abilities worked. It was interesting, then, that she was still going along with the show.
"Don't be scared, my dear," the Hypnotist assured her as he turned his back on the audience once more. "It doesn't hurt at all."
"What? Your semblance?" Blake asked, confirming the Hypnotist's suspicions.
"So, you've figured it out then."
"It wasn't too hard."
"Is it so wrong though?" the Hypnotist asked, raising his fingers and starting to circle them again. "I use my semblance to put on a good show. Nothing more. As with regular hypnosis, my semblance can't force people to act against their will. A little useless, don't you think?" As he spoke, he activated his semblance, drawing Blake's attention to his fingers.
"I--I guess so," Blake agreed, already starting to slip.
"So I decided to use my semblance the only way I could: putting on shows and making people laugh," the Hypnotist went on, increasing the effect of the semblance on Blake. "There's nothing bad about that, is there?"
"No...nothing bad...about that," Blake repeated, the Hypnotist's words subtly lulling her into the hypnotic trance without her even realizing it.
"So there's nothing to worry about. The only thing you should focus on is my voice and my swirling fingers as they guide into a deep state of relaxation."
Blake could only nod her head as her jaw muscles began to slacken while the grin common in all his subjects began to form too, leaving her mouth hanging open in a smiling state. Seeing her just about ready to fully fall into the trance, the Hypnotist began the final part of the process.
"Now, when I count from one to three, you will fall into a deep hypnotic trance, comepletely blank and fully ready to follow my suggestions. Do you understand?"
"Yesssssss...." Blake droned.
"Then on the count of three. One...two...three."
*PING!*
Like everyone else before her, Blake's body relaxed and seemed to slump over slightly, her open-mouthed grin being displayed for all to see. "Let's hear it for her, ladies and gentlemen!" the Hypnotist boomed, standing aside. The laughter at seeing her mindless smile was the loudest yet.
"Well, we wanted to see Blake smile," Yang commented, fighting back a chuckle while Ruby failed in this, snickering with laughter.
The Hypnotist let the laughter die down before going back to Blake, ready to continue his show.
