Mesprit Accepts Mew’s Challenge

"Alright, human, I'll help you find Mew." Mesprit answered finally.

"Really?" You ask, surprisingly not very excited about her response. "Thank you so- wait. Mesprit can you... stop using your powers or whatever? I don't like not being able to express emotions."

"Hm? Oh right, I forgot I was calming you. You should be fine now." The legendary answered, not doing anything that visibly caused change.

"Okay, good!" You shout, checking to make sure you could properly emote again. "I-uh, thank you for helping me!" You stutter out an embarrassed thanks. "I would've been in so much trouble if you weren't helping me."

"Yes, I imagine that you quite would be." The legendary responded bluntly, a mischievous gleam washing over her eyes. "You wouldn't wind up eaten, around here at least, most Pokémon here are herbivorous. But outside of my domain you would be in quiet a precarious situation. I imagine a lot of Pokémon would love having a little human. Especially one as cute as you..."

"Um... you think so?" You laugh nervously. Mesprit was looking at you with a rather protective gaze, the golden eyes really enhancing the affect.

"Oh yes, there's something quite cute about you. I mean... look at you! You're so small you fit snuggly in my hands! It's so easy to..."

Mesprit slowly brought you closer to her face. You were unable to protest, enraptured by the giantess' golden eyes. The legendary wasn't suppressing your emotions, just not letting you express them. This drastic shift in personality was frightening you, but you had no way to express that... or resist what she was doing.

Mesprit hands slowly crept you closer and closer to her face. Unable to move you gaze, instead you could only listen to the sounds around you. Your mind racing with a sense of fear, you believe your hear the sound of the legendary's mouth opening. Had she-!

"Cuddle you." Mesprit finished her sentence, pressing you gently against her cheek. The giantess giggled as you were released from her gaze and you looked away, blushing.

"You scared me... ahaha.: You attempt to nervously laugh the situation off.

"Oh I'm sorry. I truly meant that I didn't mean you any harm, but I couldn't stop myself from having a bit of fun at your expense. It's always to tempting to pass on the opportunity to mess with humans."Mesprit laughed.

"But I'm still sorry. Perhaps making you think I was going to eat you was a bit too much. No more pranks, I promise."

"Please, keep that promise." You respond, still a little shaky.

Done with her fun, Mesprit moved you away from her cheek and gently patted your head with one hand.

"So... why are you going to help me, Mesprit? You're not going to ask for a favor after all this, are you?"

"Ha! No, nothing silly like that. I just want to help you is all. It's important for Pokémon as powerful as me to set an example that all living things should cooperate." Mesprit reasoned with a warm smile.

Wow. You never thought you'd hear a legendary say something so cool.

"Plus it gives a reason to mess with Mew."

Uh... what?

"Uh, what?" You parrot your immediate thought back to the legendary.

Still holding you in her hands, Mesprit turned around and began floating back to her lake.

"I'm going to be honest with you for a minute, human. I'm not the biggest fan of Mew."

Okay, this could be interesting.

"She gets to float around, all over the world and do whatever she wants. She can even pull stunts like this on innocent mortals like you. She thinks she can be carefree just because she's a legendary."

You had no reason to disagree with that statement now.

"Now that's not a bad thing, and she does some genuinely helpful things but... ugh!" At the sound of her annoyed groan, the waters of Mesprit's lake roared to life and catapulted into the air. You didn't react at all, but only because Mesprit momentarily kept you calm. Soon you free to sweat nervously at the display.

"While she's free to do whatever she wants, I have to stay at this lake and help preserve the cosmic balance of space and time! I'm part of a system that helps keep the entire world in balance, and I even guard a peaceful lake domain in my spare time. But who gets all the attention? Mew!"

The water around you began to stir again.

"For some reason, people absolutely love her. I get, she's kind of cute, but I'm cute too! But I barely get my name whispered and Mew is part of a conversation every day."

Now the waters were practically raging.

"Uh... Mesprit."

"But now's my chance to show her up. She though she could just prank you in my domain and leave? Ha! I'm going to help you find her, make her turn you back to normal and show her that she isn't as cool as she thinks."

"Mesprit!" You shouted as some water splashed against you.

"She probably doesn't even realize it, but her little prank on you is a challenge to me! And! It! Is! On!"

The water around Mesprit erupted into a geyser and sprayed the area around the lake with water. You seemed to be shielded from getting wet and you also managed to avoid getting scarred! You were actually just astounded that Mesprit had indulged such... interesting information to you.

As quickly as it erupted out, all of the water in the lake quickly gathered back in and the surface became completely still once more.

"Um........ cool?" You honestly weren't sure how you should have responded to all of that.

"Well, sorry you had to see that." Mesprit laughed, completely back to her previous calm persona.

"So are we going after Mew?"

"Heck yeah." Mesprit answered adorably. "But, just a head's up..."

You have the following choices:

1. “We’re going to wait one day.”

*Pen*
2. “We’re going to wait a week.”

3. “You better hold on tight!”

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
