“You better hold on tight!” Mesprit said.
“What?” you asked.
Before you could get an answer, she tightened her grip on you, squeezing you firmly with both hands, and then shot up into the air. You screamed in fear at the rapid ascent, and your stomach churned as if you were on a roller coaster. Mesprit giggled as she kept flying upwards. You shut your eyes and began squirming in her grip, yelled at the legendary Pokemon to slow down. Soon, she actually did slow to a stop, and you opened your eyes.
Mesprit was floating with her back facing downward now, holding you close to her chest. She was like a giant platform under you, which you were lying on while her hands surrounded your body in an embrace. She looked down at you, then smiled and tilted to the side, allowing you to look past her body at the world below. You gasped as you looked around. You were high up in the air, and you could see most of the island of Sinnoh from here. You’d never seen it like this, and it was a beautiful view. Mesprit giggled as she sensed your amazement, and she began slowly flying along.
“Cool, huh?” she asked. “I love flying high up like this.”
She adjusted her grip on you so that you were facing away from her, then she turned over completely so that you were held under her, and nothing was blocking your view. Her body was now like a ceiling over you instead of a platform under you, and you were looking down at Sinnoh. You suddenly got scared, since the Pokemon was no longer providing a safe floor under you. You still felt the strong tightness of her hands around you, pinning your arms and only leaving your head, shoulders, and your lower legs free. Even so, she could drop you at any moment, and this scared you.
Mesprit sensed this emotion too, and she tightened her grip on you even more, constricting your tiny body to the point where it got hard to breathe. However, you actually felt better when she did that, because it made you feel more confident that she wouldn’t let you go.
“You’re safe,” she said. “I won’t drop you. Just enjoy the view, while I try scanning for Mew.”
Mesprit sped up, flying all around the sky over Sinnoh. You gradually grew more comfortable in her grasp, and watched the island below you, still amazed at the view.
