The slip of paper read "Reach 300 lbs or higher!" and nothing more. She stuffed the paper into her pocket, and went on the search for this chef.
After a while, she managed to find a cafeteria room with a bird in a chef hat standing near the end. "Ah!" The chef bird cawed. "You must be that girl the Conductor told me about! What can I help you with?"
Hat Kid walked over to the bird and showed him the slip of paper.
"Hm... Three hundred pounds or more? A challenge, but I'll take it!" The Chef stated, walking towards a large fridge. "You have a seat at one of the tables, and I'll whip you up something special."
Hat Kid did just that, sitting down on a bench in front of a wide table. She felt so small in such a large, wide room... This was obviously intended for multiple birds to eat at.
After only a short wait, Hat Kid was presented with a large cake, dripping with frosting, covered in cookies, sprinkles, and chocolate chips, and to top it all off, filled with lard. It was nearly quadruple the size of Hat Kid!
"Here it is, kid! The most fattening cake I could bake under such short notice." The Chef responded. "Eat every last bite, and you're sure to be fat enough for the Conductor."
Hat Kid gulped, intimidated by the size. But, if this is what it took to be a star, she decided she would take it. Without any hesitation she grabbed a chunk of the cake with her bare hands, stuffing it into her mouth. It tasted delicious, so she had another bite. Then another, and another, until she was hastily gobbling the entire cake with vigor.
As she ate, her body swelled with fat very visibly, spilling off the edge and putting heavy strain on her clothes as she got larger.
The Chef could only watch in awe as such a small girl was able to eat so much and not get full immediately.
Hat Kid kept eating more and more, until finally the entire cake was devoured. Upon spinning around, the Chef placed a scale onto her feet and she watched the numbers rise until they landed on...
