Similar to a headache, though more acute and sudden, his head shook and his vision went blurry.
"Hey, kid."
"What?", Connor replied, looking around.
"Huh?", Sabrina said as she noticed Connor looking around. "What's up?"
Connor realized no one else had heard anything.
"You're in my head aren't you...", Connor thought to himself, and apparently now to the being in his head, as well.
"Yeas, I am. I am Echiro. I am a guardian of the forest. A forest that no longer exists. Humans laid waste to my forest and created this perversion of nature in it's place. You're going to help me right this wrong."
"Huh? What do you even mean?", Connor thought, growing more worried.
"You will be my avatar. I have little strength left, so I've chosen to take residence in your body. Together, we will take the humans that ruined this place and bring them in line.", Echiro stated.
"Uh, what do you mean 'in line'.", Connor thought.
"In my scope of powers, I have the ability to exchange parts between living creatures, and even two or even more beings together. Though if I channeled my full power to you, even in this weakened state you might outright die."
Connor's eyes went wide at the voices words.
"But I won't do that. You must adjust. Take it slow, yes? We'll start with simple, small changes. One or two parts a time."
"I can't. I won't. That's fucked up.", Connor thought in defiance.
"Oh you will. If you don't I'll simply overload your body and find a new host. That crystal you picked up will be found by another host before the end of the day, and you'll will cease to exist."
Connor realized his will was no longer entirely his own. Submitting to the voice in his head, he reluctantly agreed. "Fine. How do I do it?"
"Simple, child. Close your eyes, will it to be, and it will be. Remember to go gradually, or else, you know..."
"Okay...", Connor said, defeated.
"Connor, you ok?", Miles said, looking at his friend. "You looking for something?"
"Nah, I'm good. Let's go, I see Coach Anders is done.", Connor said.
The group moved forward toward the Coach as they neared the gates and passed under the highly decorated entrance.
What area is just past the entrance?
