You had just arrived back home from your year away, training at Cauldron Academy, all girls boarding school to learn magic. You were very proud to be named the top of your class and honored to be given the right to teach at the academy someday. You walked through the front door with your two bags of luggage and stepped into the entryway of your house.
"Mom!" Cheerfully, you called. "I'm home!"
Mom entered the room, smiling. She was a tall and slender woman with long forest brown hair and emerald green eyes. She wore her favorite long black dress to mark the occasion of you graduating. "Welcome home, sweetie!" Hugging you, she said. "I am so proud of your accomplishments!"
"Thanks, mom." Blushing, you said. "Where are Joe, Ina, and Tia?"
"Ina and Tia are still at ballet, I will be picking them up soon." Lightly, mom replied. "Joe, well..."
"What happened?" Sighing, you asked.
Mom gave you a pained look. "Your father stopped by." Almost whispering, she said. "He told me that Joe has come of age and will soon discover his spark, his talent for chaotic energy and recruiters will soon be coming to him."
"You mean those mad scientists?" Ice in your voice, you asked.
"Your father is one of them, young lady." Scolding, mom said. She sighed. "The point is Joe is also close to discovering the magic within him."
"So it is a race." Sighing, you said. "Where is he?"
