Chapter #4Alternate Universe Theory by: Triple As you get to your room, you see something that instantly stops you in your tracks. A few metres ahead of you, you see your normal self, sitting on a small chair, sighing heavily while looking at the telescope. With no intention to alert your male counterpart, you tiptoe towards your wardrobe, quietly opening and hiding behind a nearby cupboard. Male clothing surrounds you and it somehow makes you feel uncomfortable, despite the fact that you have only been a girl for a few minutes. You feel your masculinity shrinking rapidly.
Trying to shrug off the feeling of your gender issue, you instead focus on what your next move should be. Should you come out of the closet? Maybe you should stay and remain unnoticed. Floods of different scenarios get inserted in your brain but soon enough, a scarce feeling of Déjà vu hits you hard in the brain, full knowledge of what is going to happen within the five minutes stuck in your thoughts. Slowly, you open your wardrobe door, letting a little bit of your bedroom light shine on your watch. Checking your wrist, you look at the time, trying to figure out when the portal explosion will likely occur. According to your recent memories, you estimate the explosion is going to happen within 12 seconds. In preparation, you slowly count down the numbers, whispering to yourself to a noise level where no-one can hear you.
"Twelve."
"Eleven."
"Ten."
"Nine."
"Eight."
Counting down the numbers in your head, you soon start to get nervous gradually, resulting in your numbers being said more slowly. You take a few milliseconds of hesitation before continuing the count.
"Seven."
"Six."
"Five."
"Four."
Moments before you fully finished your count, a sudden explosion booms downstairs, startling you a little. Without hesitation, you sprint down towards the living room, hiding behind a nearby sofa, patiently and anxiously waiting for something else to happen. The most important part of the portal has yet to start.
A few seconds go by, and your eyes stay focused at the portal as you observe someone or something step out of it. To the side of your hiding place, you can hear your male self, walking down with heavy footsteps. You ignore it easily, instead, wanting to have one question answered.
Who came out of the portal? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
