As you were heading to the mines you didn't notice anything strange happen, save for a tall and beautiful sorceress turning a man into a rat for his sexist remark, which was relieving since Marina is infamous for sexism and prostitution. As you made your way you spot two warriors and a guard from Thistle Town. You hear them talk about how their friend Esmerelda turned a man into a rat for try to strip her clothes off in public. The second incident must of been when she was insulted by a man. Regardless you are thankful for a woman sticking up for herself. If you were ever to find a man that you wanted to marry the last place to look for one is here in your hometown. It would ironic that if you won the Golden Sword Challenge that all the women in town will start invading the Adventurer's Guild. Yet such would be the justice those sexist brutes deserve for the poor treatment of women in this town.
Once at the mines you ready your pickax and start mining for valuable metals. As you work you notice the two warriors with mining equipment as well. By that time you almost had more than enough materials to forge yourself a sword.
"Let's get some materials so we can forge some new swords. Father, did you bring any smithing equipment with you?" The younger warrior asks.
"No, your mother is using mine on her adventure to sell our family made weapons across the kingdom. Reymond, you should really buy your own."
"It's no problem father. We just have to find a blacksmith and ask to use his facility to forge our own weapons."
"The tournament is within a week or so and it took us that long from our last stop to get here."
Hearing the two warriors talk perked your interest.
"My father owns a smithry. I'm sure as long as you pay him he'll let you use it."
The younger warrior turns around to answer you. You notice that he's 6'8" tall with red hair and green eyes.
"Thank you little girl for the information. May I ask why why a child such as yourself is doing here in the mines?" the man named Reymond asked.
You start fuming with anger at his remark. If you weren't insulted for your gender people would resort to calling you a kid, despite being an adult, due to you being short for a woman your age.
"Did I say something wrong?" Reymond asked with a confused look on his face as you reached for your sword.
"I'm not a child!" you yelled as you unsheath your sword.
"I am dreadfully sorry if I have offended you. There is no need for you to draw your sword." Reymond said as he apologized to you.
You calm down and resheath your sword. There was no point in exacting vengeance now. You could do so at the tournament, but this warrior's kindness threw you off guard. It's like he wanted to treat you as a friend.
"I'm Reymond Lionshield and that man over there is my father Bartus Lionshield. What's your name milady?"
"My name is Alyssa Bronze." You replied.
"It's nice to meet you." Reymond said as he extended a strong hand.
You then shake Reymond's hand before resuming your work. You could never have enough material and the more material you got the more options you would have when crafting your sword.
