Chapter #6

Candy runs into Kyle while shopping

    by: cana Author IconMail Icon
Candy walked the dog around the yard till he did his business. With a lift of the leg and a watered bush later they returned to the dry house. Candy set up the dog in the laundry with a few spare blankets. A bowl of water for when the doggy got thirsty. A towel off got Amanda’s wagging her tail. Squeezing the sides of Amanda’s face Candy baby talked to her, “Don’t worry puppy I will take good care of you till I find your family. Now we better get some sleep.”

The door shut as Candy left her alone. Amanda dug at the blankets nesting before circling around a few times laying down on the soft fabric. Exhaustion soon brought restful sleep dreaming of running through the woods. Amanda’s leg twitched as she slumbered. A few woofs puffing out her lips as she rested.

Candy woke refreshed in the morning. She fried two eggs one for herself and one for the bloodhound. She reminded herself that she needed to pick up some dog food. Letting out a grateful Amanda. She clipped a leash to the dog and walked outside for a needed bathroom break. Amanda wolfed down the egg presented to her. Candy put Amanda away in the laundry room telling the dog, “I need to run out for a bit to pick you up some food so you don’t starve. See you later handsome.” She kissed Amanda on top of the head and a scratch behind her ears before leaving her again. Amanda laid onto the blankets huffing in frustration at her situation. The boredom of being shut into a laundry. She looked at the lever latch wondering if it was locked.

Hearing a car pull away Amanda decided to test it. Jumping up with her front paws the lever gave way as she pushed awkwardly forward with her back feet. She dropped down on all fours and started to wander the house. Her nose sniffed about for any scents that might intrigue her.

Candy arrived at the grocery store eager to pick up some items for her possible new dog. She headed to the pet aisles. She turned a corner and ran into Kyle her neighbor. She smiled brushing her hair behind her ear, “Picking up some groceries for Amanda and yourself?” She found Kyle to be an attractive friendly man. Though slightly jealous of Amanda’s relationship with him but she did respect it.

Kyle returned a sheepish smile, “I was picking up some snacks and extra batteries for my flashlight. I lost my dog and I am going to spend my day looking for her.”

Candy face pouted, “That is so sad. Let me help you look for her. I found a stray last night but it was a male bloodhound. You can come meet him after we find your dog. I just need to grab a few things for my new guest.”

Kyle thought it strange that she found a dog on the same night Amanda went missing as a dog. It could of happened but seemed suspicious. Could Amanda be playing a trick on him? He realized that he was standing silently in front of Candy he stammered out, “Thank you. How about we meet at your place? I lost her near your house in the woods. She broke loose chasing a small furry animal.” He tried to mask his nervousness with a stilted laughter.

Candy comforted Kyle, “You can meet my new doggy. Maybe he can sniff out your girl. Is Amanda already out looking for her?”

Kyle struggled for an answer, “Amanda is out of town right now.”

Candy nodded in understanding, “You don’t have to worry about me telling Amanda about losing the dog. It could happen to anyone.” She hugged Kyle pressing her large breasts into him. Kyle blushed while saying thank you and wandering away to finish his purchases. Candy in turn quickly completed her own shopping.

Candy arrived home to a waiting Kyle. “Let me change into a pair of hiking boots. You can come and my gentlemen caller from last night. He has the cutest wrinkles on his face. You’ll just love him.” Candy led Kyle inside after unlocking the door.

Amanda perked her ears up hearing the door openly. Feeling guilty for wandering the house freely her tail tucked between her legs. “How’d you get out? You’re a clever boy aren’t you. It’s okay I am not mad. In fact I brought a friend for you to meet.”

Kyle came out from behind Candy. Amanda excitement drove her tail to wag furiously as her body quivered. “Hello there I am Kyle.” Kyle knelt down and began to pet the happy dog.

“I will leave you two alone for a minute while I grab my boots.” Candy said as she went off to her bedroom.

With Candy out of earshot he leaned over to the dog saying, “Amanda is that you?” Amanda forgetting her original purpose nodded her head in assent. Overjoyed that Kyle found her. “Okay where is the medallion?” Amanda shook her head not knowing the answer. Kyle looked dejected but asked for confirmation, “You don’t know where it is?” She nodded her head yes for him.

Candy interrupted calling out, “Okay I am ready to go.” Kyle wondered what to tell Candy about searching for a dog they wouldn’t find. He still wanted to look in the woods for the medallion.

Candy bounced up to Kyle, “I think the name Beau works for him. He has been a gentlemen so far and I need to call him something.” Amanda looked up to Kyle for help who shrugged sheepishly.
