Elen was in her room today experimenting with her perfume set. She had spent the past hour trying to perfect her various perfumes. She'd work on several different projects at once with a portion of her room resembling a chemistry set more than an actual hotel room. Several were just new perfumes to sell while the rest were for competing in the tournament. For whatever reason as sweet as they were they never caught on. Perhaps she just wasn't popular?
That's another thing, she hasn't wasn't particular popular amongst anyone. No one really liked facing her, nor did they particularly like her character that much. Perhaps it was her approach? She found herself distracted and nearly set her room on fire as she found herself zoned out when thinking about these things. How could she improve? She thought to herself. She wanted to win every fight badly, while also invoking fear in her opponents. She yearned for a time when fairies were still scary.
"I can almost smell her..." She told herself, as she reminisced of one of her old friends. "The epitome of a fairy. Why can't I be more like her." She said wistfully as she psychically poured a volatile chemical into a beaker to create an extract of something.
"Still holding me in much esteem I see." Someone else's voice had cut into the room, it was really soft and delicate.
Elen spilled the contents of her beaker as her psychic lost focus. She whipped around to see an Aromatisse sitting on her bed. Elen was visibly shocked. The Aromatisse smiled(?) and said "I smelled you nearby, so I let myself in. The door's still locked don't worry."
Elen spoke in tones that bordered on whispers. "Y-you... you're here."
"Ah Yes! I'm quite surprised myself." The Aromatisse adjusted her own rather stylish feathered black hat and coat. "I was downwind from this place and I heard something interesting was going on. What was it? A smelly pokemon tournament? Seems more like a free for all but semantics aside..." She chuckled.
Elen remained silent as the Aromatisse continued. "Oh but imagine how surprised I was when I heard you were here! Is my pipe serving you well?" The fragrance pokemon narrowed her eyes and Elen flinched.
"I'm sorry, I should have told you what it was for an-" Elen was cut off by a clap from her guest.
"Oh but you should know better than to build success on borrowed power." The Aromatisse said cheerfully. "I forgive you though. Say, isn't it rather chilly in here?" She said as she buttoned up her previously unbuttoned coat.
Elen cleaned up the mess she made earlier and then said "I can make you some tea."
"Ah don't bother. I didn't mean to intrude. So you've taken up perfume making I see. Taking after me? A shame, I'm a tax collector now." The Aromatisse chuckled.
"What? Really?" Elen blinked and gave her guest a confused look.
"Of course not. However, there is a debt I do need to collect." She extended a hand out and the pipe ethereal pipe was conjured out of thin air around Elen and it levitated itself to the Aromatisse, completing her very stylish look. "I'll be taking this back."
"Wait I-I need that!" Elen stammered. The Aromatisse shook her head in disapproval and smoked the pipe.
"Today's the day you pay the piper." The Aromatisse chuckled and blew another puff of scentless smoke. "You're lucky I'm only taking your pipe. Would be a shame if I collected interest." She gave Elen a blank stare. Elen cringed and nodded. She was clearly afraid of this Aromatisse despite minutes earlier holding her in high regard. "I'll give it back eventually. Maybe even teach you how to make your own. For now though, for lying to me about what you wanted to use this pipe for I'm grounding you and taking away your toy. That's fairy right? Of course it is! I'll be entering this tournament myself since you're no doubt frustrated over no one taking you seriously." The Aromatisse got up and walked towards the door. "Oh and that next line of perfume, it seems to be going well. Feels like it's missing something..." She sniffed the air. "Plums, it's missing plums. Go get yourself some plum extract. Oh and let's catch up later. It's not every day we meet eachother again."
"Sure." Elen said, visibly sad. The Aromatisse nodded and tapped the doorknob. It unlocked itself and opened up for her.
"Ciao!" The Aromatisse bid her friend farewell and the door closed and locked itself.
Elen growled and huffed then turned her attention back to her work. "Plums huh... whatever." Elen now needed something to take her mind off her frustration she looked back at the door and figured she needed to go out anyway.
