You wish you could help Caleb somehow, but you didn't know how except to just act as if nothing's wrong. Heck, you have problems you've yet to solve yourself, like how you ended up in the Pokémon world. For a while, you tried vigorously to solve your own mystery. It's been about... five years now? You can't seem to recall exactly anymore. It was long ago there after that you accepted your fate and stopped trying to find the answers to your questions. You could still remember the day...

The smell of rain was strong in the air. A cool breeze flows throughout the forest of trees as they dance with their many limbs. It's the first thing you notice when you open your eyes.
The first thing you think of is how you got here. You try to think very hard, but a headache suddenly overwhelms you as you grunt in pain. That's when you notice how incredibly cool the mud underneath you feels. Normally you'd get out of the muddy mess instantly, but it felt good to your swollen head. Besides, your head felt oddly heavy to lift anyway. You would lift your own head, but with the pain you're feeling, you were afraid to discover something you didn't want to know. Panicking was the last thing you needed right now.
After a brief moment of silence, you hear some sort of ruffling close by. "Oh, no." You thought. You wanted to call for help, but you were too afraid. Maybe the animal will leave you alone if you don't make a sound.
You lay there in silence for a what you presume was ten minutes. Your muscles were getting stiff from consciously staying absolutely still. A crazy thought enters your mind to roll over on your side to see what was might be there watching you. Surely, the creature was long gone, but your curiosity was getting the better of you. Using more willpower than strength, you swing yourself to your side. As you do, you feel the pain in your head shift painfully along with your movement. As you go to squint your eyes from the pain, you briefly notice something standing a few feet away from you. With your mind too focused on the pain, it shortly after causes you to pass out.

Your thoughts are interrupted as you notice Professor Elm's lab in front of you. This was usually the best part of your whole day. Working in the lab was always exciting. Seeing many different Pokémon and learning about so much interesting discoveries. There was always something to look forward to.
The smell of... well... cleanliness? You never could put a name to the smell, nor have you ever figured out what the smell was. Surely, it's some sort of cleaning chemicals, but it wasn't ever important to you. It was good enough for you to know that the lab had a welcoming smell to it when you entered through the front doors.
The desk was unoccupied, but you shrugged off the fact that whoever's running the desk must be on a quick break of some kind. You walk up to a secured door as you pull out your security card. Once you slap the front of the card on a darkened square by the door, a green beam scans the card. Shortly after, the door clicks, indicating that it's unlocked.
Just before you walk through, you hear someone return to the desk. Turning around, you see Hillary. You've always known her to stand by the desk as she helps guiding visitors to wherever they need to go. "Afternoon, Hillary."
