Amy headed into the kitchen, using small fire spells to set the stove ablaze. Amy had found that her precise control of fire magic was rather handy that way. She then prepared herself a hearty breakfast, frying several eggs, rashers of bacon, and hash browns. All that food she was making was, of course, for research purposes only. The fact that she'd enjoy the large meal was only a secondary concern. As she tore into the meal, Amy thought about what she was going to do today.
Amy's teacher had long theorized that a mage with greater body mass could more effectively wield destructive magic. She had gone on to try and build up her muscle mass, but Amy had decided to take a different approach. Amy had been experimenting over the past few months by repeatedly casting a fireball spell on stones, and marking down the results as her waistline grew. There was a slight increase to be sure, but nothing she could really call definitive. Amy hoped to finally discover if her theory was right, one way or another.
Amy finally finished her breakfast with a loud burp, her stomach bulging against the fabric of her robes. Amy let her breakfast digest a bit first, before heading over to a small scale that magically sensed her weight. 165 lbs, it told her. Marking down that info in a small book that she'd been keeping her records of this experiment in, Amy then moved out of the tower in which she made her home and into the yard surrounding it.
Amy focused a little, and with a cry, cast an earth spell that rose a boulder out of the ground. Amy used a few measuring spells to determine that it was similar to the other rocks that she'd been casting the fire spell on. A few minutes later, she was sure that it was. Amy was excited, but that didn't excuse sloppy work, after all.
Finally, Amy incanted a fireball spell. Her hand began to glow, and from it a globe of red flames sprung forward towards the boulder. There was a loud BOOM and a lot of dust. Amy waited for the dust to settle, hoping that the rock beyond was destroyed.
