JANE POV

“I wanna see the outside world.” You say to Alisa.
“I can’t make it permanent, but I can give you some decent time.” Alisa snaps her fingers, the uterine walls suddenly fading into transparency. “Huh, that’s odd. I swore Anna was in her office.”
As the walls fade, you can see a woman’s hand resting above you, before you face forward to see a mirror.
“She’s… she’s beautiful…” You gasp as you finally see Anna with your own eyes. You see the world is upside down as Anna sits on an upside down bed, in a white two piece bikini to your liking!
“Do you like what you see?” Alisa asks as you keep staring at the woman in the mirror.
“I… Ye- ... I… why are we upside down?” You turn to Alisa, finding her flipping herself over.
“Actually, my head is now facing the ceiling, and you’re upside down for good reason. You’ve turned, meaning you’re gonna be born within a couple weeks, unless you’d like to change that.”
You immediately start to think, before your concentration is broken.“You know… I never planned on having you…” You hear Anna say.
“Wait… what?” You ask in confusion.
“In fact, I never planned on children, ever. Hell, I never even planned on marriage. It was just going to be me, myself, and my career.”
“So… what is she saying? Is she just going to give me up for adoption?” You ask.
“My powers aren’t strong enough to figure out where’s she’s going yet, for now, we have to wait and see where she goes.” Alisa shrugs as you look back at the mirror.
“But then I met your mother… well… your non-birth mother… err… argh, what am I looking for? Well, it’s all very complicated, but I met her, then things changed. I still never planned on a baby, though. It was just going to be Yoshiko, me, and our careers, then spending the rest of our lives together in retirement.”
Anna scoots back on the bed, lying back against some pillows.
“But then, the labs decided to put your brother in Yoshiko, and you in me, without our permission. At first, I was livid, and in fact, I wanted you transferred to another mother. But now…” Anna takes a breath. “I want to be one of those moms that balances their career with family life. I honestly feel like you and your brother were given to Yoshiko and I for a reason. Heck, I may even give you two a baby brother or sister in a couple years.”
Anna places her hand over her popped out belly button. Touched by her speech to you, you reach out, pressing your hand against hers, her belly being the only thing separating you two.

ANNA POV

“Anna, you look like you could use some time in the hot tub.” Yoshiko puts her hand on Anna’s shoulder as she releases her seatbelt. “Or at least actual maternity wear.”
“I don’t need maternity wear. My belly’s big, but the clothes I have now can handle.” Anna gets out of her car and shuts the door, immediately walking to their front door. Despite the size of her belly, she has yet to waddle at any point in her pregnancy.
“Then why do you always tuck your belly under your desk and pull your shirt up when you’re at work when the baby starts kicking?” Yoshiko asks as she and her wife enter their house, Anna immediately plopping down onto the couch.
“Well, pregnant women are sexy.” Anna shrugs.
“You’re too professional to try to be sexy at work. You know your buttons won’t last when the baby kicks.”
“I’m going to have to disagree, babe.” Anna says as she pulls her glasses off her face, setting them gently on an end table.
“Prove it.” Yoshiko says as she pulls off her overcoat, her belly immediately dropping from its confines.
“Prove what?” Anna asks, looking up at her wife.
“Without lifting your shirt, make the baby kick. I wanna see your shirt survive.”
“You know what? Fine.” Anna says as she pulls her jacket up, pressing into her belly.
Both Anna and Yoshiko stare at Anna’s belly in anticipation, before a gentle stretch reaches out from the side of the belly.
“See?” Anna brags as Yoshiko bends over to stare at Anna’s belly.
“Wow… you weren’t lying-”
Yoshiko flinches as a popped button smacks her in the middle of her forehead, taking Anna by shock.
“Grr…”
“You need to take a dip in the ‘tub.” Yoshiko smiles as she pokes Anna’s now-exposed belly button.
Mumbling nonsense to herself, Anna begins to unbutton her shirt as she walks into their bedroom, her skirt quickly falling to the floor.
Quickly naked, Anna pulls out a white two-piece bikini from her dresser, putting it on with relative ease. She sits down on the bed, facing the mirror, hands on the edge of the mattress.
“You know… I never planned on having you…” Anna sighs, talking to herself. In fact, I never planned on children, ever. Hell, I never even planned on marriage. It was just going to be me, myself, and my career.” Anna confesses with slight guilt.
Anna glances at her reflection’s swollen middle, as though the unborn child within could hear.
“But then I met your mother… well… your non-birth mother… err… argh, what am I looking for? Well, it’s all very complicated, but I met her, then things changed. I still never planned on a baby, though. It was just going to be Yoshiko, me, and our careers, then spending the rest of our lives together in retirement.”
Anna scoots back onto the bed, lying back on some pillows.
