Knowing he was seconds away from splattering on the ground Nate just yelled out the first option he saw, "REGENERATION!" Instantly the menu disappeared and Nate felt a tingling through his body. While holding onto his fellow faller Nate turned around so he would take the brunt of the damage as the two hurtled towards the concrete below.
THUD
Nate was hurting. A lot. More pain than he'd ever felt in his life, he wanted to scream out but he couldn't even more his mouth to do that. But as the seconds passed Nate could start to feel his body regaining their feeling. Nate could feel every bone un-crack, every muscle mend, and even punctured organs were soon back to being running at 100%. In just a matter of seconds, Nate wasn't even feeling pain at all and was even able to stand up. "I-I don't believe it. I'm alive!" Nate said as he marveled at the feat he'd just accomplished. "But what about...NO!" Nate said looking on the ground at his side where he saw the girl he'd tried to save. She was just lying there on the sidewalk, she looked a lot better than he had looked a few seconds ago thanks to Nate taking the majority of the damage, but the girl didn't get out unhurt.
"Damn it!" Nate said as he put his head against her chest, "Not breathing." Nate said to himself as he immediately tried to desperately apply CPR. He went through the process of pressing on her chest a few times before trying to breath some life into her, but it didn't seem to be doing any good. Pretty soon a crowd of virtual people had gathered around the two. Eventually two paramedic's came and attempted to pull Nate off saying, "We'll take it from here."
"No you won't!" Nate yelled, "Come on you stupid program. This is supposed to be fun. This isn't fun. This is murder you stupid computer. Now fix this!" Nate said as he made one last desperate attempt to breath life into the woman. But this time something actually happened, an glowing energy flowed from Nate's lips into the woman's and soon, like Nate had been just seconds before, the woman began to heal and was soon awake.
"I guess you had a plan all along." The woman said weakly to Nate before passing out.
With tears of anger and sadness turning into tears of joy Nate pondered aloud, "What just happened?" Soon a computer message popped up to give Nate an answer.
