Chapter #7

Sorting the Facts

    by: metra Author IconMail Icon
After a few moments, a bear anthro walks in holding a stack of paper. He looks at you dubiously taking a seat in the chair in front of you. He's dressed in a police uniform just like all the other creatures. However, he is much larger than any of the other ones you've see thus far. He placed one of his thick, furred hands atop the stack of paper before glancing over at you.

"Do you have any idea what these are?" He asks. You shake your head in response.

"These..." He continues, "Are execution requests for you."

You sigh and put your head face down on the table, "So. I'm in some 'Strange New World' where all the inhabitants are anthromorphic creatures. Everyone wants to kill me... and I don't even have the slightest idea as to why. Well, today is off to a lovely start."

The bear grunts in response, "I find it hard to believe that you don't understand why they're so eager to kill you. I certainly don't condone it, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't understand it.

You stare at the bear in frustration and confusion, "I don't know if you know how I got here or just don't believe it... but where I came from, your kind don't exist. The animals we have, they don't talk, they don't drive and they definitely do not order executions!"

The bear sits back in his chair before crossing his arms, "Alright human, let's say I believe you. That would mean you are unaware of what your kind did to my kind just over a hundred and fifty years ago. Come to think of it, it may have been a little longer than that give or take."

"I have no clue about what happened here," You reply emphatically, "But I'd be a lot less confused and very appreciative if you could fill me in," You continued with a hint of irritation slipping into your voice.

The bear nods, "Alright, lets start with where you are. This is New York City, as you can see, it's populated by anthros such as myself. There are humans here and there, but they live either in hiding or under the care of the few anthros who don't actively hate humans. I myself don't mind humans, what the past generation did has nothing to do with the current generation. It's unfair to blame them the way that most anthros do to be honest." The bear sighed and looked away for a moment, "By the same token, what your kind did to our past generations... well, that was something that tends to leave scars for generations to come...."
