"I really don't like the idea of taking some sort of chemical to gain weight," Liara said, biting her lip.
"Krogan food it is then," Ashley smiled, getting to her feet. "Honestly it might work even better, considering who we're getting it from. Standard Krogan diets are one thing, but a Battlemaster as old as Wrex? He makes the rest of his species look like Quarians with stomachaches."
"I can HEAR you!" Tali shouted from across the mess hall. "Bosh'tet..."
"So you're sure it'll work?" Liara whispered, trying to keep her voice down again as the other crew members gave them funny looks. "I'll be able to get...big from this?"
"Positive!" Ashley assured her. "Well, mostly positive."
"How much is mostly?" Liara demanded, but before she could answer the door to the mess hall slid open as Wrex stomped into the mess hall mid-conversation with Kaiden Alenko.
"-well at least this time they got me too much of the Battlemaster supplements. Better then not having them." Ashley glanced over at Liara, lifting her eyebrows at the mention of the supplements. At least they wouldn't be borrowing anything that Wrex needed, the Asari reassured herself.
"I know what you mean though, trying to get the right biotic stuff delivered when we come into port has been like pulling teeth," Kaiden said. "And I'm human too, I can't imagine it's any easier for them to get things right for a Krogan."
"Hrm...is pulling out teeth is supposed to be difficult for you?" Wrex asked, walking by Liara's table as the Asari tried to look innocent.
"Yeah, it's a figure of...you don't actually pull out people's teeth do you?"
Wrex shrugged. "Not recently."
"Come on," Ashley said, nudging Liara with her elbow as she got up. "Let's grab the goods before Wrex gets back."
For all intents and purposes, they were heading down to the cargo bay for perfectly innocent reasons, but Liara still felt a need to remain light-footed, like at any second someone would leap from the shadows and catch her in the act. She practically jumped as the elevator dinged and opened onto the messy cargo bay. Slipping through some indistinct gray crates, Ashley pointed out a bright red crate that looked like it had been through as many wars as Ashley had been. Had to be something in there for Krogans.
Liara's hands trembled slightly as she and Ashley undid the locks and lifted the lid of the box, revealing several objects the size of bread loafs, sealed in silver casings and with something in the Krogan language stamped on top. Ashley picked one up, giving it a few sniffs, before giving Liara a thumbs up before they closed and resealed the case, quickly making their escape from the cargo bay with the silver case behind Ashley's back. By the time they got back to Ashley's quarters, which were less of a hike to get to, the Asari could feel her heart beating in anticipation. Her guilt over the theft was quickly fading, and as she waited for Ashley to unseal the bag and set the food up, she pictured her soon to be new self, soft and flabby, pleasingly plump, with thick thighs for Shepard to sit on, a thick chin and cheeks for her to caress lovingly, a big belly that her beloved could fill up to her heart's content, once she got done with kissing her soft, plump lips, running her hands all over her larger form, climbing on top of her to...
That was right when Ashley finally revealed their prize, setting it on the desk in front of them.
"Oh...It looks..." Liara mumbled, her cheeks coming back from being flushed bright blue.
"...blocky?" Ashley guessed.
"I'd say burnt."
"Yeah, burnt..."
For something that would be the gateway to an intoxicating future like the one in Liara's head, this thing looked very unappetizing. Black, featureless, perfectly shaped like a rectangular prism. It looked better suited to fueling an engine. Ashley, somewhat awkwardly, cut off one chunk with a knife and set it in front of Liara. The inside was the same shade and texture, the block hadn't even left crumbs behind. It felt squishy and slightly wet when Liara picked it up.
"And you're sure this will help me bulk up?" Liara asked again.
"Yep, that chunk is...two weeks for most Krogans," Ashley said, looking at the label on the inside of the case. "It'll work, believe me."
Liara stared at the unappetizing ration chunk in her hand, hoping that the thing looked worst then it tasted as she lifted it to her mouth.
