“Oh man, oh man,” Panic said nervously. “How’re we supposed to fulfill Master’s wishes?” He chewed distractedly on his fingernails before looking to Pain.
“Don’t look at me,” the red minion shrieked, “You were the one who said we’d handle it.”
“Now don’t be pinning this on me,” Panic yelped before drumming his fingers along his chin. “But since we’re already deep into this, we may as well come up with a plan.”
“Oooh,” Pain said, a jack-o-lantern grin splitting his face, “I like that.” He ground his claws against his head, seeming to think about the issue hardly. “And I think I have one!” He declared.
Panic folded arms dubiously. “All right,” he sighed, “Let’s hear it.”
“Well,” Pain said, “I say we lure the two of them down to the river with some story of a troublesome river god, and while Hercules fights the monster, we secure Pegasus and force him to face the river’s current. We make him open his mouth and tons of water will rush in. Pegasus’ belly will expand and grow wider and wider until it’s pressing against his legs and he can’t walk anymore, let alone fly! His stomach will be so large he’s resting on it and sloshing around like a water balloon.”
“That’s stupid,” Panic said, waving off the red demon’s suggestion.
“All right, you dumb gargoyle, let’s hear yours then,” Pain said, raising a resentful eyebrow.
“Well obviously, that arrogant horse loves godly foods. I mean he’s always pigging out at banquets and stuff. So we lure him away one night and get him alone. Then we tie him down and make him eat more and more food until he’s too fat to fly.”
Pain thought for a moment, “As dumb as you are, that might actually work,” he said.
“We’d have to make it progressive,” Panic said, thinking hard. “Perhaps one of us turns into an attraction for him, another pegasus, and we compel him to stuff himself. He won’t tell Hercules because he’ll be too embarrassed.”
Pain laughed at that. “I think that’s a good idea,” the red minion chuckled. “He’ll grow rounder and softer which will also breed mistrust between him and Hercules from secrecy.”
“Then it’s settled,” Panic said and the two clasped their hands evilly before flying into the night.
Where would they find Pegasus and Hercules?
