“Simon, I need you to re-shelf these,” Lisa, your boss, told you while setting down a box of book returns.
“Aye aye, boss,” you said lazily taking the box. The job would time consuming and dull, but not difficult. You weren’t surprised. Busy work was about all Lisa trusted you with for some reason.
About halfway through the box you found a strange book. It was small, about the size of a video game case but thicker. It was bound in soft, black leather and had no markings on. No title, no author, nothing. Not even a barcode.
“Hey Lisa,” you called walking the book to her. “This isn’t one of ours I think.”
Lisa took one look at the book. “Nope. Throw it in lost and found.”
With that she went back to what she was doing and ignored you. Shrugging, you started in that direction. Curiosity getting the better of you, open to the front page to find that the book…
