Seras looked every part the thief with dark leather armor laced with knives, daggers, tools and poisons of various uses. Seras would have been a lovely young woman if not for disease ravaged face and numerous scares from a less than ideal childhood. Her long red was braided with a dagger attached to the end more for intimidation than actual combat.
King Emeril looked on nervously at the potential assassin and noticed his guards held their weapons a little tighter with the presence of this notoriously dangerous individual. If anyone could find out about the strange sightings, mysterious disappearances and mutilate corpses without getting caught it was Seras.
For her part Seras cared very little about the King’s thoughts or feelings because she was only interested in getting paid. She usually wore a disguise when meeting clients but the King’s wizards would likely detect the magic which would make the already nervous King Emeril downright paranoid, not that he didn’t have reason to be scared. A lifetime of conquering and combat had produced many enemies, and with his advancing years he found the children who should have been taking the burdens from his shoulders busy fighting each other over potential inheritance, so he had his hands full preventing bloodshed between his brood. The King was now forced to call upon the insane to do the dirty work of the kingdom, namely adventurers.
The title adventurer appealed to Seras since childhood as someone who went places and going places was just what she wanted to do. She had earned the title many years ago and it brought with it money, thrills and more enjoyments she thought was possible. People usually became adventurers to earn the big score, and retire or to genuinely try to do some good for the world. A few like Seras were thrill seekers who would adventure until the day the price of their thrills caught up with them. Seras told herself it was the money but she lied a lot, so she would gladly help the King for the money he offered.
The only question left for Seras was where to start.
