by: Mr. Scratch Author IconMail Icon
Steven looked at the cards and could not find anythign special about them. They looked like normal cards you would normally use for poker games. "That's it?", he asked disappointed. "So much secrecity just for some old cards? Are you kidding me?".

Jason wanted to follow him in his disappointed when he noticed a piece of paper which was lying in the box. "What this?", he asked himself and got it out. "Instructions? I thought this was something exciting.". He nearly wanted to throw the paper away when he noticed what was written on it.

"It says you can swap traits through these cards.", he explained his friends while he skimmed the instructions.

"Yeah, right. Of cooouurse.", replied Julie sarcastically. "And it was probably designed by Santa Claus.".

"Don't be stupid.". Jason then began reading it out.

"The game is played like a normal poker game until someone wins a hand. The winner is allowed to swap a trait with one of the losers just by saying the word "I want to swap X with Y". The swap will take place immediately. If the winner does not decide what he wants to swap after a period of 2 minutes, the cards will decide for him. There are four special joker's in the game. If someone wins with one of these in his hand, the winner decide what two losers may swap. Again, the winner has a time limit of 2 minutes and has to use the phrase "I want that X swaps Y with Z". It is allowed to get the jokers out of the card deck if you want to play without them. The swaps are permanent for a period of 48 hours. After that you can swap back traits you previously owned. It is not possible to get a trait you started with or you had during the game. It is possible to swap swapped traits with other losers. After 48 hours, the traits will be available for the person again. Reality will adjust, everyone who is not participating in the game when the swap took place will not notice anything strange even if confronted directly with the swap. People will also not believe that such swaps are able or that those cards exist. It is also impossible for someone to accept that a swap has taken place when he was not participating.".

"Riiiiiiight.", Julie said, still not believing it. "Like something like that even exists.".

Jason shrugged his shoulders. "We could at least try it out.".

"Agreed. I suggest we try it out if it works.", said Steven and began mixing the cards. "In the improbably case it works, I'd suggest we gather some more friends. I guess this game is laid out for more than 3 players.".

Julie just shook her head. She knew that the boys easily believed in magic and that stuff. She knew this would not work. "Okay fine.", she sighed. "But don't be sad if it doesn't work.".

Steven then gave everyone their cards. The game was quick and dirty and the winner was...
