You remember Maria very fondly, she had a bubbly personality, though could be rather mischievous. She was your parent's go to baby sitter going back nine years or so and lasting all the way up until she moved out. She enjoyed dressing up Erika, she encouraged Kyle's mischievous side and she loved your inventions.
She was the first woman you had a crush on, and you'd often challenge your siblings for attention. One of your first inventions made Erika's hair fall out so Maria couldn't brush it, of course Kyle ended up getting his hands on it and made all four of you bald. You felt bad when you made Maria's beautiful chocolate hair fall out, but she found it amusing, in fact you're pretty sure she stole that device to use on people she didn't get along with.
You secretly cried when Maria went off to university and couldn't babysit you anymore, that was about six years ago. The babysitters after her were never as fun and you would always remember your games. You hadn't seen Maria again until last week, she gave you a polite wave as you carried the parts to your body switching machine into the garage, though you could tell that she wasn't the same woman you remembered. You noticed her baby bump and you admittedly felt rather jealous knowing she had been with other men.
It wasn't until the loud arguments with her parents, that you figured out Maria's story. She flunked out of university, ended up as a waiter and dated around. Her last boyfriend was told he was unlikely the have any kids so didn't believe Maria's baby was his and kicked her out for cheating, though she was adamant that she didn't do that. Having no where else to go, she moved back in with her parents, they weren't happy to see her but they couldn't leave her homeless either.
When you were a kid, you'd do anything for Maria and you still would. You just wanted to see her be happy again, even if that meant that you had to take on the burden of her life for a short while. You were going to give her the break she deserved, at least that's what you told yourself. In all honesty you were curious what it would be like to be pregnant and she wasn't that far along. She was still as attractive as you remembered too, even more so now and you also remembered watching some Disney Channel episodes where a boy swapped with a girl. Maria teased you by asking what you'd do if that happened to you and her and that thought never really left, it might be what inspired you to make this machine in the first place. It was fitting then that she returned home as you were working on it and now you would give her the honor of being the first one to use the machine.
The only question was, were you going to get her permission first or swap without asking?  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
