As Natsu continued to plow through his muffins, he glanced back at Gray, and much to his surprise, the Ice Mage's gut had distended to about the same size at Natsu's own stomach; if not, the exact same size. "Hey, what the hell?" was all Natsu could work out with a mouthful of muffin. Gulping down his own mouthful and sighing happily, Gray smirked and said, "What's wrong, lava lamp? Ya scared of a little challenge?"
"Scared?! Pfft! As if! It's just gonna make it all the more satisfying after I kick your ass...AGAIN!" responded Natsu sharply as he proceeded to stuff a whole muffin into his mouth, causing his cheeks to bulge out comically. Shaking his head, Gray continued to stuff his own face with more muffins.
By the time their muffins were all but depleted, both boys' stomachs had pushed outward to the size of beach balls. Natsu's belly stuck out from his vest and over his lap, while Gray's had distended to the exact same point, to where he had to unbutton the bottom portion of his shirt just to keep it from tearing, exposing his belly button and a fair amount of distended skin above it in the process. Both sat there for a moment, rubbing and massaging their bloated guts, occasionally burping to make some more room. All the while, staring intently and competitively at one another. Both had eaten and bloated to the same size, and neither was going to let the other take the lead without a fight.
"So, Gray, wanna know the first thing I'm gonna eat here once I win that free weeks supply?" taunted Natsu with a toothy grin. Gray scoffed and said, "Actually, I'm more curious about who you went up against that was such a lightweight that he couldn't even beat YOU? Cause you sure as hell won't be winning squat today," responded Gray sharply.
"Oh yeah?!"
"Yeah!"
Before the two could go head to head again, the baker returned with several large pitchers of milk. "Nothing washes down a warm and doughy pastry like an old fashion pitcher of milk. Or a few," noted the baker jokingly as he stepped aside. Immediately, both Natsu and Gray grabbed a pitcher each and began to chug away as intently as either one could chug anything.
As the two continued to chug in a seemingly endless pace, their stomachs continued to distend just ever so slightly with every few passing gulps. By the time either one had stopped around the halfway point of their first pitchers for a breather...
