Soon enough, Natsu regained some momentum, and he began to chug on ahead of Gray, a jug in each hand as he gloriously gulped down the dairy, ignoring protests from his stomach as it continued to strain, advancing ever so steadily outwards. Gray was trying to keep up, but soon he was an entire pitcher behind, despite the fact that he was essentially mimicking Natsu in how he drank milk.
The two didn't talk at all, as they were completely focused on the competition, but their glares at eat other were all the words they needed, and as one gained a bit of momentum, the other would push to keep up.
Natsu still had the upper hand, though, and once he finished his milk, he went on to the final, and hardest, part of the competition, five loaves of bread. Natsu immediately grabbed a baguette, which was nearly four feet long, and he stuffed one end into his face, feeding it in continuously as his cheeks puffed out ridiculously in order to accommodate for all the food.
When Natsu was about a third of the way through his long baguette, Gray began on the first of his five loaves, a freshly-baked banana bread. He wanted to take care of the rich, sweet breads first. Forgetting any semblance of manners, Gray grabbed chunks of the banana bread and stuffed them in his face heartily. Soon enough, Natsu moved on to a loaf of classic white bread, one which was unlike anything he ever tasted, and not too long afterwards, Gray moved on to the pumpkin bread.
All the while, their stomachs bloated further and further outwards, and they became heavier and heavier. Natsu's belly began to hang after his second loaf, and soon afterwards, Gray's followed suit. Soon enough, their bellies would both be resting on their thighs.
Next up for Natsu was a massive, circular loaf of sourdough, with cross cuts in the top and everything. After that, Gray moved on to his loaf of sourdough. The two glared at each other, seeing that they were eating the same type of bread, but they didn't really care, as long as they were stuffing their face faster than the other, they were satisfied.
As Gray moved on to the leavened breads, he gained some momentum, and when Natsu moved on to the richer, sweeter breads, he began to slow down gradually, being overwhelmed by the heaviness.
Speaking of heaviness, by this time, the bellies of the two were heavy enough to drag themselves down to the laps of their respective owners. From their, they continued outwards, consuming whatever space was left between them and the table.
Soon enough, the two were on the last loaves of bread, and both of their bellies were now bisected by the table in front of them, and they both winced at the new pressure, but they both tried to hide it so that they show no weakness.
Finally, at the end of the competition...
