Despite having eaten breakfast right beforehand, Natsu still had the edge on Gray, and he viciously tore into a large torte that the baker brought him. When he was about halfway through, Gray started on his own torte. Gray saw that he was falling behind, and that only gave him the determination to push harder.
Natsu had a slight edge in this competition, as he had been practicing since they first competed with each other. His stomach capacity had increased considerably since, and his appetite grew to match. Either way, he was still giving it his all, yet Gray was starting to match his speed, much to his surprise.
Next up was a dozen large muffins, which Natsu greedily stuffed into his face, his cheeks puffing out comically. After a few muffins for Natsu, Gray moved on to the muffins, glaring at Natsu, who was very jolly and carefree in his stuffing spree, almost as if to mock Gray.
Their stomachs had grown from all this, as Natsu's was about the size of an overfilled basketball, and Gray's was not much farther behind, his shirt rising up about halfway, resting right where his navel was.
