This choice: She saw potential when she first met him • Go Back...Chapter #3She saw potential when she first met him by: Unknown Hermione came into the compartment where Ron and Harry were sat eating sweets together. "Has anyone seen a toad? A boy called Neville has lost one" she asked, almost automatically, with out even asking their names first. They declined but Hermione noticed that one of the boys' the red headed one had his wand out.
"Are you doing magic?" she asked, thinking the answer was perfectly obvious "let's see then?" Her tone suddenly sounded slightly more interested, slightly less bored as she took a seat next to Ron. She was grateful for the opportunity to sit down, her feet were a little sore after all the walking she had been required to undertake, getting to the train on time.
"Sunshine, daises, butter mellow. Turn this stupid fat rat yellow" he intoned, waving his wand frantically in the direction of the rat that she assumed was his pet.
"Is that a real spell, well it's not very good is it. I've only tried a few simple spells myself but they've all worked for me." She glanced at the boy opposite, she noticed was wearing glasses.
"Example" she pointed her wand at him "Ocular Reparo"
The dark haired boy's glasses immediately mended themselves, he removed them for a moment, an astonished expression on his face, and she noticed a scar on his forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt."
"Holy cricket! You're Harry Potter. She studied him a little more then stated "I'm Hermione Granger." Just as she said this she felt a sudden twinge in her foot,, If Harry was the great hero he was reputed to be perhaps he wouldn't mind helping her with.... but how to?....
She dropped her wand on the floor, in a way that made it look like it was accidental, and a gently swing of her left foot kicked it under her chair "Drat, I dropped it" she gasped, giving Harry a questioning glance.
"Allow me" Harry invited, ever the hero. Of course she would allow him, this was her plan.
She lifted her feet up into the air, allowing Harry room to reach under her seat. The wand seemed to be resting against the back wall. He leaned forward, grasped the wand and then raised his hand to pass it to her. She took her wand back and looked back down at him.
"Thanks Harry, you are a useful boy to have around" she remarked, then then lowered her feet, allowing them to come to rest upon his back.
"Especially when I need to rest my aching feet" she continued, as she relaxed. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
