Chapter #2

Susan, a 45 year old woman

    by: Markus Author IconMail Icon
"Alison! Where are those papers I asked for!" yells Susan. "There coming right now," replies Alison as she gets up and jogs over to the copy machine. Susan groans as she waits for her assistant to bring her the papers she asked for five minutes ago. It is a Thursday afternoon in the office that Susan runs and everything is very busy as normal. Alison glances at the clock as she makes the copies and notices there is only fifteen more minutes to go. "God, I just can't stand her...can five o'clock get here faster," thinks Alison to herself. Alison had become busy at her desk and had forgotten about what her boss had asked her. Alison rushes over to Susan as soon as the copies are made. "Here you go Susan, sorry," says Alison. Susan stands up from her desk to take the papers from Alison, then glares down at the short woman. With Susan in her heels, she is about a foot taller than Alison. Alison hates to have her boss look down at her, especially after making a mistake. "You know Alison, when I ask for specific paperwork, I need it pronto," says Susan. "Yes, I am sorry. It won't happen again," replies Alison.

Susan loves to use her height in the office. She thinks it makes her appear even more dominant. A few minutes later, Susan wanders around the office to check on her employees. As she walks around, she really doesn't give out any positive comments and just criticizes everyone for anything minor that she sees. Finally, the clock strikes five, and one by one, Susan's employees clock out for the day. Most leave really pretty unhappy, just like the days before. As Susan sits at her desk wrapping things up, she gets a call from her daughter, Justine, asking to go out for the night. Susan is equally strict with her daughter, just like her employees. Susan reminds her daughter that it is a school night and she cannot stay out past nine. The two argue on the phone for several minutes, but Susan wins like always. Justine had asked to stay out an hour later, but her mother would just not budge. Susan ends the call, then finishes up her work. At this point in her life, Susan has made quite a few enemies with her pushy personality. Some employees are fed up with her, along with her daughter. Someone is planning on getting back at Susan in a unique way. In such a way that Susan will no longer be looking down on people, but instead, have to look up to them. Who is planning on getting back at Susan?
