Chapter #12

Good Intentions...

    by: Drakin Author IconMail Icon
Spyro thought and thought the whole way back to the temple. It was weird. He seemed t have a lot of ideas of what he could do with such power, and yet so many he dismissed outright.
She he write that he ruled the world? No, the planet was fine as it was and who would want the headache of making decisions that affected every being on the planet. He could make himself fabulously wealthy. But why do that when there wasn't much he wanted to own? Dragon hoards and some good books were nice, but buying everything seemed silly. Strength and power? Perhaps the most tempting but also the most concern worthy. That was what Malefore desired and Spyro would sooner jump off a cliff with a boulder tied to his tail than follow in the footsteps of that monster.
For all the unanswered questions though Spyro was starting to form a more rational idea of what he should write by the time the temple came in sight. He could write some nice things for himself certainly and there were a few moderately selfish desires he might indulge in, but he also had the power to make the world better.
When they landed Spyro excused himself briefly for a 'bathroom break' but really he planned to write his first groundbreaking message on the paper. Slipping off down the hall to his room, he moved up to the barely used writing desk and dug out a quill. He already knew what his first decision would be. He'd been feeling his stomach grumbling most of the way back, eager for food. So, picking up the quill and writing as small and as legibly as he could, he wrote From here on no being on this planet will ever become hungry again.
Spyro felt a tingle run through his body as it worked. The sensation of hunger soon passed and felt content and comfortable, as though he'd just had a moderate sized meal. With a smile Spyro tucked the piece of paper into the back of one of the books on his desk for safe keeping and then returned to join Cynder.
What Spyro wasn't aware of however was why he was no longer hungry. Whole food had simply appeared in his stomach to to be digested and as it was slowly over the next few hours more food would fill his stomach. In essence it was as if the dragon and everyone else effected were eating 24/7. What's more, each time the food appeared in their stomachs it stretched them ever so slightly bigger, so more food would be needed to fill the space the next time.
Spyro had essentially started a world wide endless fest.
