"I don't make it a habit of having sex with those under my command," said Rutabaga. "After all, I have to set an example to the others beneath me, and while I might have a reputation of having sex with every female Assassin that tries to kill me, being involved with a new guard is something I hope to avoid. Now, if I find out about two guards in a relationship, so long as it doesn't jeopardize their duties, and one is not in the Chain of Command of the other, or they are of equal rank, I'll admit that I tend to look the other way in such situations. However, if it is an issue, or one is in the Chain of Command of the other, I'll take them aside and tell them to break it off, unless both of them want to find another line of work."
"I understand," said Fiona. "I wasn't thinking about it anyways."
"Good to know," said Rutabaga. "Also, while you are on the job, you can't go around killing people, save in self-defense."
"We don't do that anyways," said Fiona. "The targets must be capable of defending themselves, or have the money to hire protection."
"I'll keep that in mind the next time one of your classmates comes after me," said Rutabaga. "They tend to show up after I piss some rich bastard off."
"Well, business is business," said Fiona. "As it is, you have a fairly high price tag. That being said, a number of people seem to think we price you too high, and higher cheaper help, who, as you've noticed, tend to end up with a black bolt in them."
"Although the one you killed almost killed you," said Rutabaga.
"There have been a few who have killed some of ours in the process, but not many," said Fiona. "And we see to it that the bodies are removed."
"Yes, because I'd hate to find a body in my yard," said Rutabaga. "I'd also hate to find them in a tree."
"It would have been removed," said Fiona.
"Maybe, but then, we wouldn't be having this conversation, now would we," said Rutabaga. "Tell me, you any good at working around Non-Humans, to say nothing about different classes and nationalities? I don't mean by killing them."
