The Second Group of Survivors...

by: Life in HD Author IconMail Icon
While most of the campus remains infected, the previous group of eight all stuck in a tiny room aren't the only students to have escaped the effects of the virus for the time being. On the other side of the dorm in a boarded up cooking lab are a second collection of survivors who have been waiting for rescue as their food supplies dwindle dangerously low, and they have to make the choice to move out and try to escape…
---
Diana: A 21 African American beauty with short red hair, Diana was studying art before the virus broke out and she had to move to shelter. Despite her friendly and slightly naive demeanour, Diana is actually very smart, which is what has kept her unaffected throughout her many meetings with the infected around campus.

Hailey: A 22 year old Raven haired lesbian drama student, Hailey likes to be very cheery and extravagant in her actions. While she sometimes seems to be disconnected to the events around her, she is friendly to all she meets and will always lend a helping hand.

Julie: A 20 year old brunet with glasses, Julie was a biology student in the same class as Dee before the outbreak and is one of the smartest students in the entire campus. However, despite her intelligent nature, Julie herself is a very cold and rude person. She is quite mean to the rest of the survivors and believes those with the virus were simply too stupid to know how to avoid it.

Laura: A 23 year old tubby geology student. Once a very well-known student with a big circle of friends, Laura has lost quite a few of them to the infection and sometimes wishes she could join them, but is too scared of what the others would think if they saw her all ballooned up one day.

Hannah: A 21 year old Asian bombshell, Hannah was well known throughout the collage for her hourglass body and incredible fitness. When the virus broke out her room-mate was one of the first to get infected, and since then she has been terrified about losing her perfect figure.

Mark: A fat 22 year old cooking student. When the virus was first noticed, Mark was the one who originally got the others to safety inside the cooking room. Quite a jolly person despite often being bullied for his weight, Marks love of food is only matched by his wish to be able to get fit like the other boys on campus.

Jack: A scrawny blond 20 year old. In the collage, he is a shy student studying psychology. In secret however, Jack has a massive size fetish and loves to see women with oversized butts, bodies and breasts. The only reason he has not been infected himself is his own personal anxiety.

Ryan: A 22 year old hard head, Ryan was a part of the football team before the virus broke out. While he might be strong, his IQ could probably be counted using your hands. It’s only due to pure dumb luck that he has managed to escape the virus thus far.

"…As of yet, there is still no explanation for the rapid expansions that are affecting millions of people across the world. The government is still advising people to stay in their homes and wait this out, but who knows how long this will last..."

The small T.V in the corner of the cooking room continued to drain on about the virus, but by this point, the small group of survivors all huddled together eating the last of the provisions took no notice. There were far more pressing matters on their mind right now, as with the last of the last of the foods gone, their hope of staying hidden until rescue dwindled to impossible.

“That’s the last of the food” Mark said, admitting what no one wanted to hear.

“What are we going to do now then?” asked Laura, picking through the crumbs of an old biscuit packet. “This was the best place on campus for supplies”

The group was silent for a few seconds before Diana, the self-appointed leader, jumped to her feet.

“Well these only one thing we can do. We have to try and escape”

The others looked at her with surprise. With so many infected students around the collage, escape seemed even an even worse idea then staying here.

“That’s an idiotic idea” replied Julie, having joined Diana on her feet with her arms crossed over her chest. “Where exactly are we supposed to go? The city is blocked of the halls are filled with the fools that got themselves infected.

“Hey, it’s not all their fault they got infected!” piped up Laura, not willing to have her friends old mocked by Julie. “Some of them were just unlucky”
“They were morons for not taking appropriate precautions, and what else-”

The argument was stopped by Mark coming between them, knowing that falling out in a survival situation was a foolish mistake to make.
“Now now, everybody just calm down. We are all a bit tense from being cooped up in here”

Mark was quickly becoming the only voice of reason in the small cooking room, but it wasn’t long before everyone had calmed down a bit.
“Now, I know you think trying to escape is a bad idea Julie, but right now we don’t really have a choice. Food is gone and no one is coming, so we need to think of escape options”

“There would have to be some cars left in the parking lot, so we should have transport” replied Diana.

“So all we need to do is find some car keys and get to a vehicle, sound good?”

The others nodded in agreement. As much as it was risky, it was the only option for the group now.

“Wait a minute!” cried Hailey, who hadn’t seemed to be paying attention until now. “What about other survivors!”

The other looked at her for a moment in thought.

“We can’t risk looking for others” Said Julie, still cross. “It would be far too risky”

“I’m with her!” Cried Hannah. “There’s no way I’m going to get infected”

“Well, I think Hailey is right, we should try to help other if we find them” replied Diana, standing next to Hailey to face the others. “What do you guys think?”

“Look, we don’t have time for that right now” again spoke Mark, standing between to two sides. “If we find anyone else on the way, that’s good, but right now, transport is our top priority.” For once, Diana and Julie agreed on the decision. It would be their choice to save or leave anyone they find.

Slowly, Ryan removed the wooden boards attached to the door and stepped out, checking to see if anyone was around. When the coast was clear, the group of 8 stepped out into the hallway to try and find a way off campus.
