The world around him swam. Eric felt waves of nausea, but they soon subsided. When he felt good enough to open his eyes, he looked around, to find his old body unconscious on the rocks below.
"Oh no," Eric said, realizing his voice was different. "You've made me into a dragon!" he said, looking around for his adversary. Somehow, even though Eric didn't prefer to have a dragon voice in the first place, he still felt that the one he currently had was a bit too...something, but he couldn't place his finger on it.
The voice came from behind, slowly, cooly, "Oh, I most certainly have." Something in the tone of the voice struck Eric as more than a bit odd, so he quickly turned around to find the dragon he had been facing before sitting right behind him. "Gwa, get away from me," Eric said, pushing the dragon away and stumbling forward on unfamiliar legs.
The dragon only looked at him in a sly manner. "You know what the difference between me and you is?" He was still using that horrible voice, as if he-- Eric froze. He knew that voice, he himself had used it many times...on women. Eric quickly did a mental check...something was definitely not where it was supposed to be.
"The difference between me and you is simple: I am a healthy adult male, and you..." the dragon said, giving Eric a onceover that gave him the creeps. "...are a healthy adult female."
Though Eric had already guessed it, the dragon speaking his predicament out loud gave it a chilling reality, as if he had spoken it into existence right there. The dragon continued to watch Eric critically, holding eye contact for a bit too long here and there.
Something about this dragon just froze Eric in place, he couldn't make himself move, or talk, or anything. The dragon began leisurely approaching, a bit TOO leisurely. Eric looked within his heart of hearts and called up his best angry outburst, hoping to give the male some pause.
"Now, now back off," Eric said, before mentally cursing himself. Back off? What kind of lame threat was that?
"Oh, I don't think male arrogance will help now, EricA," the dragon said, enunciating Eric's new "name." "In fact, I think you'll find that no male strategy you're used to will help at all." He seemed to be quite pleased with himself, and that pleasure frightened Eric more than he thought it should have.
"L-look," Eric began, painfully noting that his voice sounded like a feminine version of the opposite dragon's voice, "I don't know what you think you're going to get out of me, but, I'll have no..." The dragon moved in very close, putting his head just above Eric's own, flustering him/her. "Part in what you're going to do..." Erica said, her argument slipping away from her like dandelion seeds in a gale force wind.
"Oh, don't worry, Erica, I'll take care of everything," the dragon said, smiling cruely. "You need to learn to experience life as a dragon, so I thought I'd start you out at the best place..."
