Feeling air moving in and out of my own lungs, I made my best effort to speak and, to my surprise, I found that I could but only very slowly as it was hard to move a single muscle. "Hard to move." my voice very deep I said. "Feel heavy."
Mum stared at me for a moment then fell into another round of tears. "He's alive!" sobbing, she yelled. "Doctor, help him!"
Dr. Khan, hearing me as well, immediately called in a number of nurses who gasped at the sight of my body. "Our patient is suffering from a massive calcium build up." explaining, he said. "Don't ask for details, we need to help him move his body before everything solidifies and he will never be able to move again!"
Getting to work, Dr Khan, the nurses, and even mum worked on getting me to move every part of my body. It was painful as my body now felt so heavy it was torturous to my muscles. I heard myself scream a number of times, begging everyone to stop but Dr Khan insisted I keep moving. I was in so much pain, it felt as if they were at me for days when it had barely been an hour before I was finally able to somewhat move on my own. It was still difficult though and I was desperate to lay back down but Dr Khan shook his head.
"I know you are tired, Jon." patiently, he said. "I have seen this condition in the woods before." he winced. "Trust me, you do not want to stop moving until you can get to the point you are able to move freely."
I was about to protest as I was becoming irritable but stopped as I heard a loud crack, followed my another. Each one was followed by one part of my body being able to move more freely. Within minutes, I was able to freely move and looked down to find what looked like a random pile of rocks all around me. I turned to Dr Khan, confused.
"That was your first layer of 'skin' falling off, Jon." he said. "You may not know this but your transformation added at least a foot to your height and a good hundred pounds." pausing, he added, "What you have is a condition known only in mythology, the birth of a stone golem."
"A- A what!?" surprised that I was also able to speak better, I asked.
"If our efforts pay off, you will be losing the other 'shell' in a moment." serious, Dr Khan said. "Weather it will come back only time will tell."
"And if your efforts didn't pay off?" nervous, I asked.
Dr Khan sighed and showed me a mirror. "If they didn't pay off, this is your new look."
Looking into the mirror, I screamed as I saw my own face but it appeared to have been carved from solid rock!
