Just as I was about to fall into hysterical tears over my cruel new fate, I heard a loud crack, then another, and another until I saw the stone skin falling from me like an avalanche. When it was over, I found that I was myself again but blushed brightly, discovering I was completely naked. The nurses blushed and started to giggle as they turned away but mum was quick to grab a sheet and wrap it around me. "Easy, Jon, it's okay." gently picking me up from the rock pile, she said. "You're free from the stone, you're going to be alright now."
"Actually, this may only be the beginning." wincing, Dr Khan said. "I want to run a full series of tests, just to be safe."
"You- You think I might turn into stone again?" startled, I asked.
"As I said before, you are the first to survive this petrifying process." serious, Dr Khan said. "We have no idea what to expect so I need to run tests on you and your 'shed skin' to see what is going on inside of you."
I gulped, uncertain what to do and turned to mum who nodded at me. "It's best you let them run the tests." firmly but kindly, she said. "Especially since everyone else this happened to had died."
I could not argue with that and slowly nodded. "Okay."
