The entity, now satisfied with its playful meddling in the gym, floated out into the hallways, invisible to all. Its attention was caught by a young teacher named Michael, walking toward the teachers' office. He held a folder in his hand and a determined yet slightly nervous look on his face. Michael’s thoughts were open to the entity like pages of a book.
“Maybe today’s the day,” Michael thought to himself. “If I just talk to her more, I’ll get comfortable around her. She’s always so kind... Maybe we could even get coffee sometime. Ugh, who am I kidding? She’s way out of my league.”
The entity, curious about human connections and this strange thing called “love,” decided to help. It didn’t fully understand the nuances but was intrigued by the potential for amusement.
His slacks softened, shortening and re-stitching into a flowing knee-length skirt as his button-down shirt shifted into a fitted blouse with delicate lace trim. His short-cropped hair lengthened, falling into soft waves that framed a face now more delicate, with almond-shaped eyes and high cheekbones. His body reshaped itself—shoulders narrowing, curves appearing where there had been none, his voice softening into a melodious tone. Even his memories swirled and changed, merging into a new narrative.
By the time Michael reached the teachers’ office, she was no longer Michael. Her name was now Michelle, and she was a bright, confident young teacher with a natural warmth that made everyone adore her. Memories of her life as Michelle seamlessly replaced Michael’s, and even her mannerisms became inherently feminine.
Inside the office, Michelle’s colleague, Sarah, looked up and smiled warmly. “Oh, hey, Michelle! You’re just in time—I was about to grab a coffee. Want to join me?”
Michelle smiled back, feeling a deep sense of familiarity with Sarah. “I’d love to! Let me just drop these off first.”
The two women walked side by side, chatting easily. Sarah laughed at a story Michelle told about her students’ antics in class. “They sound like a handful, but you’ve got such a good way with them.”
“Thanks, Sarah,” Michelle replied. “Honestly, I learn a lot from watching you. You make this job look easy.”
“Aw, you’re too sweet,” Sarah said, giving Michelle a playful nudge. “Speaking of sweet, have you seen the new math teacher? Mr. Parker? He’s totally your type.”
Michelle blushed, laughing nervously. “Sarah! I don’t even know him!”
“Yet,” Sarah teased. “But don’t worry, I’ve got your back.”
As the two women giggled and sipped their coffees, the entity watched from above, pleased with its handiwork. The two teachers were now close friends, sharing laughter and secrets in a way that only women seemed to. To everyone around them, it had always been this way.
The entity, still curious about where this would lead, decided to observe a little longer. It could feel the undercurrent of new possibilities forming in Michelle’s life and was eager to see how she would handle them.
