Chapter #5

Pass a class

    by: Unknown Author IconMail Icon
The entity walk through the halls, amused by its handiwork so far. until the bell ring and it came across a classroom in the middle of a lesson. Peeking in, it saw a rather ordinary scene: a group of high school students listening (or pretending to listen) to their teacher, Ms. Jessica Harper, as she explained the finer points of world history. Ms. Harper was an engaging teacher in her mid 30s, known for her no-nonsense attitude but approachable demeanor.

The entity, however, found the scene dull. "This needs a spark," it thought. With a flick of its metaphysical fingers, the classroom underwent a sudden transformation.

The boys, previously slouched in their seats wearing casual school attire, now found themselves dressed in elaborate ball gowns. Layers of shimmering fabric, corsets, and puffed sleeves encased their bodies, complete with intricate makeup and glittering accessories. Their hair was styled in elegant updos or cascaded in perfect curls.

The girls, on the other hand, were now dressed in brightly colored princess dresses meant for toddlers. The outfits included puffy skirts adorned with sparkles, plastic tiaras, and glittery wands. They looked like they had stepped out of a child’s costume party.

And Ms. Harper? Her sensible blouse and skirt were replaced with a stylish one-piece swimsuit. She stood at the front of the class, seemingly unaware that her attire was anything but appropriate for teaching history.

The room froze for a split second before everything resumed as if this bizarre setup had always been normal.

Ms. Harper cleared her throat, tapping a yardstick on her desk for attention. "Okay, class, focus! Can anyone tell me the significance of the Treaty of Versailles in shaping modern Europe?"

Ryan, a tall boy now struggling with his enormous ball gown, raised his hand hesitantly. "Uh, Miss Harper, I think—uh, hold on—" He awkwardly adjusted the layers of fabric around him, his cheeks flushing as his classmates snickered.

"Yes, Ryan?" Ms. Harper said, unfazed by his struggle. "And please, keep your posture straight. That gown deserves some dignity."

Ryan groaned but sat up straighter. "The Treaty of Versailles ended World War I and imposed heavy reparations on Germany, which... uh..." He trailed off as his tiara tilted forward, almost falling off his head.

"Good, but elaborate on the economic impact," Ms. Harper said, ignoring the tiara situation entirely.

Meanwhile, Megan, now wearing a glittery pink princess dress with puffed sleeves and holding a wand, waved her hand in the air like an excited five-year-old. "Pick me, Miss Harper! I know!"

Ms. Harper smiled indulgently. "Go ahead, Megan."

"The treaty made Germany really poor, and then they got mad and started World War II!" Megan announced with the tone of a child explaining her favorite cartoon plot.

"Close enough," Ms. Harper said, jotting notes on the board. She turned, adjusting her sunglasses—which had somehow appeared as part of her swimsuit look.

In the back, Tyler muttered to his friend Ethan, "I can't believe this dress weighs more than my backpack."

Ethan, struggling with the puffy sleeves of his gown, whispered back, "I feel it too. But I like how the dress look though."

Up front, Jessica, a girl now completely immersed in her childish role, sitting in her seat and giggled. "Look at my sparkles! They’re so pretty!" she chirped to student beside her.

The entity walk nearby windows, thoroughly entertained by the absurdity. Despite the chaos, the lesson continued smoothly, as if nothing was out of the ordinary. Boys delicately adjusted their skirts as they answered questions, girls giggled about their tiaras and wands, and Ms. Harper carried on her lecture, the image of professionalism despite her swimsuit.

The entity lingered for a moment longer, wondering what new chaos to create next.
