A pearl among her kind

The liquid continued to harden, settling on every inch of her like a second skin. This was not a problem until it also began hardening over her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Soon the galaxy-famous bounty hunter was trapped, tears and all, like a fly in amber. In the back of her fading mind, Samus realized she was being turned into a pearl. The covering around her would thicken and harden still further with time, perfectly preserving the image of her trapped, naked body for all time. A tiny spark of her little-used feminine pride was at least a little happy that if she was going to die, she would die looking beautiful forever. That spark only flared for the briefest moment before dying, along with the rest of Samus Aran.
