"It alters a person's reality. It's very powerful." He bit his lip uncertainly.
"What does that mean, Scribe?!" Kelos shouted.
"It will take a few moments, but you'll soon find yourself reliving past events that, if altered, could have a profound effect on your life. Your highness, it is vitally important that you do things exactly as you remember them happening! Any changes you make, even seemingly minor ones, can cause major changes in your life, and completely rewrite reality!"
"What will happen if reality changes?" the captain asked.
"Prince Kelos will change to reflect that new reality, and will be the only one who notices anything different. To the rest of us, it will be as if the world had always been that way."
"I-is there a way to stop it?" Kelos asked nervously.
"No, but as I said, do things exactly as you remember them, and it should turn out mostly the same."
"But what if..." Kelos never got to finish the question as suddenly the world went dark. This lasted only a moment before light returned. He was standing in a familiar room. The furniture seemed huge for some reason. He looked down at his body. Instead of his toned, manly physique, he found that of a young boy. He estimated he was maybe 4 or 5 years old at the moment. He looked around, and recognized where he was, this was Ori's room with the furniture she had when she was a little girl. But why here? This scroll was supposed to allow him to relive important past events. What could be so important in Ori's room when he was so young? That blasted scribe said he needed to do things exactly as he remembered, but he had no idea what past event this could be. Maybe there was some clue here that would tell Kelos what he should do.
"Kelos! What did I say about sneaking into my room?" a girl's voice called out from behind. Though rather than angry, it sounded playful.
With that Kelos knew how to react. He spun around to face his sister. "Auwi! I came to pway!" How his words came out surprised him. He had forgotten about the lisp he had as a child. Ori had worked with him to speak properly during Cally time... That was it! That was why this event was so important! This was the first time Ori got him to wear one of her old dresses. It was the start of years of being dressed as a girl and becoming "Princess Cally."
"Oh, I have a really fun game we can play. How about we pretend to be other people? Does that sound fun?"
Yes, this is how that embarrassing chapter of his life began. Now he could put an end to that before it even started. But the scribe did warn him about making changes...
