The Dark mist welled up whipping around as the center of the room depressed and slowly split open to reveal a red glowing portal. The Mist shifted and swelled like a tiny sea in Raven's room swallowing Raven and washing her into the vortex.
"Azerath Met-Guff" Raven tried to cast a spell but the mist surged over her with a mind of it's own determined to keep her from fighting back. A black whip like force pushed back the mist as Raven cracked her magic attack at the dark mass trying to buy herself time "Shu'kuru H'jara Tu--- Bah!" Raven began casting once more but the mist returned in greater force swallowing her and tossing her about violently to keep her disoriented.
"This is your fault!" Raven heard before the sea of mist pulled her head under. Talarok turned to the outburst in surprise to see Jinx still unaffected. At her feet the pink energy of her power swirled and lapped at her feet combating the mist from pulling her into the flow as well. Long tendrils of pink and thick patches of mist struck at each other like cobras all around Jinx. Starfire's face now growing dark and sinister smiled and let out a blusterous laugh her voice now exactly like the demon had sounded before.
"An etheral child! So many surprises you've got up your sleeve Pandora!" Starfire grinned wickedly at Jinx as her eyes clouded with dark swirls and her pupils began glowing red. "You're not a witch or even a true magic caster but your power is pure energy tied to your very being that you can manipulate with thought! You'll make a fine servant."
Starfire lifted a hand to cast a spell at Jinx as red glowing runes spread down her arms across her skin to her hands. Jinx was by no means defenseless however and threw up her own attack as a pink blade broke loose from her protective paling and cut through the mist at Starfire. The demon switched it's stance and knocked the attack away with Starfire's bare hand, the stray pink energy cutting into Raven's bed making it crack and fall to pieces with a gash cut into it.
"Incredible!" Talarok laughed with unrestrained enthusiasm "You manipulated the object's composition at a level beyond mortal understanding and altered it's fate to one of destruction!"
"Well they don't call me Jinx for nothing!" Jinx quipped and brought her hands together into a clap aimed over the possessed alien girl's head making a pulse of pink energy that flew through the air into the ceiling over Starfire. "Because whatever can go wrong..." Jinx smiled. The structure above her cracked and splintered into pieces that began coming apart.
"...will" Jinx smirked as the room's integrity failed and started to collapse over the demon. However as chunks of steel and concrete began falling onto Starfire the demon simply swung her arms apart knocking debris away and repelling the rest in a wave of force.
"This girl's power is impressive too, so much strength for such slender arms..." Talarok marveled for a moment before looking back at Jinx "So, you say your name is Jinx then...?" Talarok's voice grew cold and wicked. "Once I've corrupted you girls with demonic energy you will all make very powerful weapons!"
Jinx began to sweat, she couldn't attack the demon directly and Starfire's body was too resilient to damage with anything she could throw at her. Jinx's eyes darted around the room for anything she could use against this thing. As Jinx looked the demon began to whisper something too low to make out. However Jinx realized while she couldn't hear the words she was still able to understand the strange babbling as it seemed to be forced into the back of her head.
Jinx's head felt heavy as the demon started casting some sort of binding on her. Now that Talarok knew her name he was able to invade her mind and started disarming her by arresting her thoughts. All Jinx could hear now was a hushed voice softly begging her "Jinx, relax, just calm yourself Jinx. Won't you lay down your head and rest now Jinx. You can drop your arms to your sides and stop fighting. That's a good girl Jinx, it's time to rest"
Jinx felt herself growing sleepy, she tried to keep her balance but her knees grew weak. At her feet the pink energy flickered and ebbed away as Jinx's focus waned. Jinx knew her mind was slowly falling to Talarok's influence and even though she wanted to fight it the gentle nature of this voice she heard in her head was so irresistible she couldn't say no. Unable to fight it Jinx took one last shot in desperation at the only weakness she could think of.
Jinx's foot momentarily stamped on the floor and she regained her balance just long enough to take aim and throw up one more bolt of energy. Talarok saw the pink mass race under the mist and swung down prepared to block it. But the pink glow below the mist zipped past her and instead came up like a spike right into the relay stone still laying on the table.
"You little whore!" Talarok yelled in anger as the stone shattered and a pulse of energy washed over the room. Starfire stumbled backward clutching her head. "No no no I almost have control! Just a few more moments! I can keep control over this vessel just a few more mome- AAAAGH!"
Starfire was kicked like a mule by a pink blast and landed hard on the floor. Jinx was breathing hard trying to regain her strength but still standing. The mist began to disperse into the corners of the room. The middle of the room the carpet began to return to normal the portal vanishing and revealing Raven as if she was spit out by the floor.
"Damnit Raven do you see what messing with demons gets you?!" Jinx exploded when she saw Raven's body reappear. Raven weakly propped herself up with her arm and tried to find her emotional center still visablely rattled by her close call with the portal to the demon realm.
"Is starfire alright?" Raven managed to meekly ask once her jitters has subsided enough. Raven's apprehension all but melted away when she heard Starfire's real voice once more.
"Yes Starfire is alright" Starfire said before her voice dropped low again "....Raven" Talarok's voice once more reemerged from her lips. Raven's body felt numb as she heard Talarok say her name.
"My my.... Raven, why I do believe that was the name Trigon had for his imppish little spawn... the one that managed to over power him" Talarok laughed as Starfire's body sat up from the floor "A child with the power to alter the fate of the world around her with her power, Another with the strength of a hundred mortals at only 16 and both of them brought to me by you Pandora, or should I say Raven, the daughter of Trigon who's raw untamed power rivals his own..." Talarok roared with laughter now "It's almost too good to believe"
"SHUT UP!" Jinx screamed and flung another bolt of pink energy right at Starfire's head. Raven screamed in protest but the blast hit Starfire and caused her body to flip over once more as Talarok yelled in pain.
Talarok began cursing in a demonic tongue growing angry and fierce. The sound of the unearthly obscenities was so foul Jinx and Raven had to cover their ears in pain and the paint on the walls began to peel. But slowly the voice faded away until it was Starfire's own voice again struggling to form the complex syllables of the demonic speech. Starfire grunted as she tried to surpress Talarok's control.
Raven looked up once she realized the painful utterances had ceased and saw Starfire no longer being manipulated. Quickly Raven rushed over to Starfire and put her hand on Starfire's forehead. "Al'sha-cor ze'ta!" Raven gasped in a rush and a golden light seemed to envelop Starfire's head. As the light subsided Starfire's bright green eyes blinked in surprise. A tense few minutes passed as none of the girls uttered a word but only looked on in suspense.
"He is gone friends" Starfire finally spoke when she was sure she felt no lingering control.
