Keep Calm and Carry On

"Okay," Judy, now in the body of Nick, said to calm themselves down. "We can't just sit here and panic. We need to do something about this."

"You're right," Nick replied, placing the floor while trying not to trip over his new giant rabbit feet. "People swap bodies all the time! I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation to all this."

It was bizarre to hear Nick's usual sarcastic quips coming out of her own mouth. Though he was making some sense. There had to be a reason for the sudden change, it shouldn't have happened for no reason. Judy shifted on her own new feet, trying to become more comfortable in the idea that she was a taller and slimmer fox. Being male was also something that was going to take some getting used to. She hoped that they could solve this problem before one of them had to go to the bathroom.

As Judy flexed her new paws, she suddenly found them rather empty.

"The stone..."

"What?" Nick asked, rabbit ears picking up what she had quietly mumbled. "The stone we found? Carrots, you don't think..."

"I had wished that you could know what I was going through sometimes," Judy explained. "But it was in my own head! I didn't think it would actually do...This!"

"Well, then all we have to do is find it and undo this by wishing the opposite. Problem solved. Where did you put it?"

"I just had it in my paw when I made the wish. But that was when I was in your body. I mean, my body. You don't have it?"

Nick checked both of his paws but was holding nothing. "It must have gotten dropped when that flash of light happened. Or maybe it just evaporate entirely."

"Don't say things like that! Let's look around, we'll find it."

Before they could both go to the floor, there was a familiar ringtone humming in the apartment. Nick felt around his back pockets and produced Judy's cellphone.

"It's your parents."

"Well, answer it."

"Are you crazy? The last time I talked to them, I'm pretty sure your dad thought I was trying to eat you!"

"Nick, you're me now. And unless we want everyone freaking out, you need to suck it up and work out your problems with dad. I'll look for the stone, you talk to my parents."

Nick groaned as the call went to video on NuzzleTime. "Oh...Hey. It's, uh, it's my parents..."

"Hi, Jude! Is this a good time? We have some big news!"

"Oh," Nick looked to Judy for guidance. She just shooed him along. "Suuuure. Why not?"

While Nick was busy pretending to be amazed that someone in the family was having another litter of Hopps, Judy scoured the floor for any signs of the stone. Unfortunately, Judy's apartment wasn't built for foxes and she was feeling more cramped than usual as she ducked under her bed. This entire situation was easily the most bizarre thing that had ever happened to her and it was about to get even worse if she didn't find that stone. Judy shuddered to think what might go wrong if it landed in the wrong paws, even if its only power was swapping bodies.

As their search continued, Judy...
