As you websling across the city carrying a small gift under your arm, only one thing is rushing through your mind. Mary Jane is going to kill you. It's like all the villains get together and plan their schedule to coincide with the days that would inconvenience you the most. Of all the days that Hydra could have possibly chosen to attack the Oscorp chemical plant…why did they have to choose your wedding anniversary? You had taken off from work early hoping to spend a romantic afternoon with your wife only to spend it dodging pumpkin bombs on the other side of town instead. After a grueling fight, (which ended with the terrorists escaping) you wasted no time heading home to salvage whatever is left of your anniversary evening.
You can’t help feeling depressed as you swing past the Empire State building. You realize you should count yourself lucky that you were able to finish the fight with relatively few injuries but it’s hard to feel lucky when you know you’ve kept your wife waiting for hours. You know that MJ is a sweet girl and she will probably forgive you (eventually anyway), but this already the third anniversary in a row you’ve wound up ruining for her.
Your abilities as Spiderman make the trip home relatively fast. As you perch outside the window to your apartment, you lift the edge of your glove to check your watch. It’s 8 pm. Maybe there’s still enough time to make the evening enjoyable you hope. Taking a deep breath you enter your apartment to find your wife…
