Chapter #3

Lisa and Milhouse.

    by: Grom Author IconMail Icon
Lisa heard her parents car pull out of the driveway and knew her brother was nowhere to be seen. It seemed her instincts and indeed her magic was right. Something was going on. Could it really be true? Where the tales going around Springfield actually real? It didn't seem likely she thought as she descended the stairs of the Simpson's house. Then again she knew something was up and she shuddered at the idea that Mr Burns might get his hands on all of the magic artefacts and then abuse their power. Lisa hadn't forgotten the last time she'd tried to help him after he ended up bankrupt and the power plant was sold to Germans. The thing about Mr Burns was that he was selfish and evil and when he tried to be good he was even *more* evil.

Something needed doing and Lisa didn't much like the idea of what might happen if her dad or her annoying brother got their hands on the rings either. Lisa was a witch so she knew that the hardest thing about having great power is not to use it. Any mortal just acquiring such items of power was she reasoned bound to lead to suffering and harm for all except maybe the person with the power. Even that couldn't be ruled out really. But what if she got hold of one or more of the rings? Could she trust even herself? Well she reasoned the odds where better than just letter Bart or Mr Burns or dad get them. It was
time for action.

Lisa put on her coat and headed outside where she locked the door using her powers. Simple spells to lock/unlock doors where after all merely cantrips to someone as skilled in magic as her. Besides the lock was hardly a complex one it was just an average civilian front door. Lisa then turned invisible and headed towards where she knew Milhouse lived. After a short walk Lisa arrived at Milhouse's house and hoping he wasn't with his dad she let herself in and snuck into Milhouse's room.

Milhouse for his part was sitting on his bed reading a comic book and chuckling to himself occasionally. There was a can of soda on his bedside table. Obviously he wasn't busy. Lisa suddenly appeared in front of Milhouse or at least it looked like she did in fact she had entered the room while invisible and then allowed herself to be seen because she wanted to be.

Milhouse lowered the comic and stared for a moment. "Lisa? What are you doing here?" He said not a bit phased at her sudden appearance in front of him.

Lisa suddenly looked worried. "Milhouse? Didn't you wonder how I just appeared like that?" Lisa asked.

Milhouse smiled. "Well I am friends with your brother and you know what they say bro's before hoe's." He replied.

Lisa looked irritated screwing up her face somewhat. "Damn Bart, I mean I know it's impossible to keep such a secret within a family but you aren't family Milhouse. I can't believe he told you." Lisa said looking rather irate.

Milhouse shrugged. "Well it's ok. I didn't tell anyone or mention it and I won't. I don't want anything to happen to you or your mom. Anyway what did you come all this way for? Did Bart tell you he told me you where a witch?" Milhouse enquired.

Lisa sighed. "No Milhouse. That's not why I'm here. I need some help for a..task I need to undertake. I guess I'd better explain what happened." Lisa said then told Milhouse all about the exploding plane and the magic rings and how Mr Burns and Bart, Homer and probably half of Springfield is out to get them. She all so told him what could happen if any one person gets them all.

Milhouse sat quietly before looking up at Lisa who was standing on the bed having been explaining what was going on. "Well." he said. "We'd better get started I suppose. This is too weird." The pair sneak out with Lisa using her powers to make sure no one see either or them then they head out into Springfield to find the magic artefacts.

As the invisible pair stop to catch their breath on a street corner Milhouse asks where they should start searching.

Lisa thinks for a moment then says..how about...
