You don't have time to think, or else you might have thought of something a bit safer. All you can do is depress the button on the gun, and hope.
Well, you disappear from view all right. The bow, which was big enough to give you a handhold before, now dwarfs you. You look up, and gasp, as the woman's leg seems to climb into infinity. You can barely see above her ankle.
The whole world is beyond you, which is why you don't hear the people gasp again at your disappearance. Your hostess says, "I think I need a drink."
"I'll join you," says a man next to her. "I just...this is too weird."
The two of them start walking away, discussing the incredible oddity they just saw. Was it a miracle? An apparition? A warning? They don't know. Nor do they realize that you haven't disappeared completely. You're just barely able to hang on after the first few steps on the woman's shoe. Finally, you work your way to a stitch under the bow where you can secure yourself for half a second to think.
As the woman starts up the stairs, her toe lightly kicks one of the stairs ahead. She doesn't notice, but it sends an earthquake through her shoe. You are rattled anew, and you find yourself slipping.
