Chapter #2

The Attack

by: Trever Kelley Author IconMail Icon
Stealing yourself the resolve needed to go against your own morals, you follow the militia into the cave. It went against everything you thought right, but you could not go against them with the threat they held on your family present...

Each step you take into the cave you grow more and more anxious to a point where sweat is rippling down your back in large pools.

You tread deeper in the cavern until finally you end up at what you figure to be the back of the cave, though it being pitch black other than small flickering torches, you could not tell. There sat a lone egg, it looked completely black, but since there was not enough light you thought nothing of it. Just then, as you approached the egg, suddenly intrigued, a loud ear-shattering roar penetrated your ears. It was the target.

Obviously protecting their young, two dragons appeared from the darkness of the cave. Both black in color just like the stone but much dimmer and one slightly larger than the other, most likely the male. They charged in for the attack directly at you. You stumble back in a freight and scramble to the back once again. The Captain turns quickly and yells.

"Damn it Trent, get your head out of your ass, and cast the protection spells. Or do you think you could kill them yourself!" The idea horrified you. Killing this family of dragons was not right. They have done nothing to you or the rest of the human world.

Nevertheless, could you go up against the captains wishes and not cast your spells. If you cast them, you would spell certain doom for the unprepared family of dragons. These spells were the perfect counter for dragons... they would not stand a chance. However, if you do not, many men would die. Though none were too close to you, they were still fellow humans. Not to mention your family could also be in jeopardy.

You have the following choices:

1. Defend the humans

2. Defend the dragons

3. Do nothing
