Re: Hello all!
As for the second issue, I'd like to quote a book I read: "For every person who writes a book, there are thousands who believe they could." (from The Forest for the Trees: An Editor’s Advice to Writers by Betsy Lerner.) She's not referring to those that start writing, but those that FINISH writing the book. You greatly increase your chances of success simply by enduring to THE END. So many writers give up on their books, because it's too hard or they get intimidated looking at statistics. What separates the successful from those who fall to the side is persistence. Keep writing through those tough spots, even if the first draft is crap. Keep learning the craft. Once the book is finished, send it out to publishers. And keep sending out. And send it out again. To quote Ann E. Cannon, "If you really want to get published, you will." Here's another great quote, by Henry David Thoreau, "If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours." If you don't get a publisher traditionally, many authors have had great success through e-books or self-publishing. It simply takes the persistence to get your voice and your words out there, create your own success. Never give up your dream! Don't let the passion die.

"Musicians must make music, artists must paint, poets must write if they are to be ultimately at peace with themselves. What humans can be, they must be. They must be true to their own nature."
