30 DBC Prompt for July 5

I'm going to be gone tomorrow, we're going to hike a trail in the mountains. Then since we have to be in Billings Tuesday, we'll stay overnight there. So I thought I'd write to the 30DBC prompt.

PROMPT July 5th

You’re out with friends for the evening and have ended up at a Karaoke Bar. You’ve all agreed you will sing at least one song. What song will you sing? Why that one?


I don't do bars, I don't drink. So this would have to be a fictional character. Perhaps the character could sing 'Amazing Grace' or 'It Is Well with My Soul'. As I wrote that, I thought of the musical "Guys and Dolls". There is a character that resembles a Salvation Army worker. Jean Simmons plays her in the movie. So why not use that as a jumping-off spot for a fictional story? Hmmm.
