| Words: 189 Lines: 34 Poem # 2 Napowrimo Jesus is the King By Lisa Noe There was a king on earth Who had such a great worth His name was Jesus Christ They took him an used him as a sacrifice Mother Mary loved him and watched him crucified And some of his friends, his knowledge they denied He carried his own cross for miles and he would fall But another took up the cross and helped him with it all They nailed him to a tree For all the world to see They taunted him and teased him But still he forgave them He hung between two thieves And one did believe And ask him to remember him To his father when it became dim Jesus was buried behind a stone His tomb was a rich man’s but they made it his own The day turned to darkness and the earth did shake For his soul God would now take Three days did pass When they saw him at last He spoke to them just briefly And his words they were Holy I’ll come again Some day my friends And take you to my home In Heaven with my father where I roam. |
